Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has clarified his controversial “Is Telangana your estate?” remark, which recently triggered a political debate in Telangana.
Speaking in a podcast interview, Pawan Kalyan said the statement was intended to emphasize that every Indian citizen has the constitutional right to travel, work and participate in public life anywhere in the country. He stated that the remark was made in response to comments allegedly suggesting that he should not enter Telangana.
Pawan Kalyan noted that the Jana Sena Party was founded in Telangana and has party leaders, workers and supporters across the state. He said the party has a significant membership base in Telangana and therefore has every right to engage in political activities there.
The Jana Sena chief also reiterated that he was never opposed to the formation of Telangana as a separate state, but had previously raised concerns about the manner in which the bifurcation process was carried out.
