ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాజధాని అమరావతి అభివృద్ధికి కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం మరో కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ అధ్యక్షతన బుధవారం జరిగిన కేంద్ర మంత్రిమండలి సమావేశంలో అమరావతిలో సెంట్రల్ సెక్రటేరియట్ మరియు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగుల నివాస సముదాయాల నిర్మాణానికి ఆమోదం లభించింది.
సీపీడబ్ల్యూడీ ప్రతిపాదనల మేరకు మొత్తం రూ.2,533.99 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో ఈ రెండు ప్రాజెక్టులను చేపట్టేందుకు కేంద్ర కేబినెట్ గ్రీన్ సిగ్నల్ ఇచ్చింది. ఇందులో కామన్ సెంట్రల్ సెక్రటేరియట్ నిర్మాణానికి రూ.1,299.08 కోట్లు, కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగుల నివాస సముదాయాల నిర్మాణానికి రూ.1,234.91 కోట్లు కేటాయించింది.
అమరావతిలో 5.35 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో ఆధునిక సౌకర్యాలతో కూడిన కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయ సముదాయాన్ని నిర్మించనున్నారు. ఈ సెంట్రల్ సెక్రటేరియట్ ద్వారా వివిధ కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ శాఖలు, అనుబంధ సంస్థలు ఒకే ప్రాంగణంలో కార్యకలాపాలు నిర్వహించే అవకాశం కలుగుతుంది.
అలాగే 17 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగుల కోసం ఆధునిక నివాస సముదాయాలు నిర్మించనున్నారు. దీంతో ఉద్యోగులకు మెరుగైన నివాస సదుపాయాలు అందడంతో పాటు అమరావతిలో పరిపాలనా కార్యకలాపాలకు మరింత ఊతం లభించనుంది.
ఇప్పటికే ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులకు సంబంధించిన డీటైల్డ్ ప్రాజెక్ట్ రిపోర్ట్ (డీపీఆర్) సిద్ధమైంది. ప్రస్తుతం అద్దె భవనాల్లో పనిచేస్తున్న పలు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయాలు భవిష్యత్తులో ఈ సెక్రటేరియట్ కాంప్లెక్స్లోకి మారే అవకాశం ఉంది.
కేంద్ర కేబినెట్ ఆమోదంతో అమరావతి రాజధాని నిర్మాణ ప్రక్రియలో మరో కీలక అడుగు పడినట్లయింది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులు పూర్తయితే అమరావతిలో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ పరిపాలనా ఉనికి మరింత బలోపేతం కానుంది.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved major infrastructure projects for Andhra Pradesh’s capital city Amaravati, providing a significant boost to the state’s administrative development plans.
The Cabinet approved projects worth ₹2,533.99 crore for the construction of a Common Central Secretariat and residential quarters for Central Government employees in Amaravati. The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
According to the approved proposal, ₹1,299.08 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the Common Central Secretariat complex, while ₹1,234.91 crore has been allocated for Government Residential Pool Accommodation (GPRA) for Central Government employees.
The Central Secretariat complex will be developed on 5.35 acres with modern infrastructure and office facilities. Officials believe the project will improve coordination among various Central Government departments and agencies operating in Andhra Pradesh.
In addition, residential quarters for Central Government employees will be constructed on 17 acres. The housing project is expected to provide better accommodation facilities and support the growing administrative presence in Amaravati.
Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for both projects have already been completed. Several Central Government departments and affiliated organizations currently operating from rented premises are expected to shift to the new Secretariat complex once construction is completed.
The approval is being viewed as a major milestone in the development of Amaravati and is expected to accelerate infrastructure creation and administrative consolidation in the Andhra Pradesh capital region.
