Hyderabad: Telangana has introduced an integrated public transport ticketing system that allows commuters to use a common pass for travel on Hyderabad city buses and Metro rail. The new MeeTicket facility became available from October 3 as part of the government’s efforts to integrate different modes of public transportation.

Under the new system, commuters can use a single pass for travel on TGSRTC city buses and Hyderabad Metro instead of purchasing separate tickets for each mode. The common pass is available at Metro stations across Hyderabad.

MeeTicket is being offered in two categories. The one-day pass costs ₹400, while the 30-day pass costs ₹8,500. There is no specified limit on the number of journeys during the validity period. The pass can be used on city buses and Metro services, although Pushpak buses are excluded. A one-time refundable charge of ₹100 is also applicable to the card.

According to the Times of India report, TGSRTC carries around 30 lakh passengers a day within Greater Hyderabad, while Hyderabad Metro records around 5 lakh daily passengers across its three corridors. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government was working to integrate different modes of public transport through technology and improve first- and last-mile connectivity.

The government also launched a TGSRTC mobile ticketing platform alongside MeeTicket. Passengers can select their boarding point, destination and ticket type, make a digital payment and receive a dynamic QR-coded ticket on their phones. The platform also offers a ₹600 weekly digital bus pass, along with digital daily and monthly bus passes that can be purchased or renewed online.
