ఢిల్లీ పర్యటనలో ఉన్న తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి A. Revanth Reddy కేంద్ర పట్టణ వ్యవహారాల శాఖ మంత్రి Manohar Lal Khattarను కలిసి హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రో రైలు ఫేజ్-II, ఫేజ్-III విస్తరణ ప్రాజెక్టులపై కీలక చర్చలు జరిపారు.
హైదరాబాద్ నగరం వేగంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో ప్రజా రవాణా వ్యవస్థను మరింత విస్తరించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని సీఎం వివరించారు. మెట్రో ఫేజ్-II కోసం ఏడు కారిడార్లతో కూడిన 122.9 కిలోమీటర్ల సమగ్ర ప్రణాళికను రూపొందించి రూ.38,595 కోట్ల అంచనా వ్యయంతో డీపీఆర్ను ఇప్పటికే కేంద్రానికి సమర్పించినట్లు తెలిపారు.
హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రో ఫేజ్-II ప్రాజెక్టును కేంద్ర-రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాల జాయింట్ వెంచర్గా త్వరగా ఆమోదించాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి కేంద్ర మంత్రిని కోరారు. మెట్రో విస్తరణతో నగర ట్రాఫిక్ సమస్యలు తగ్గడంతో పాటు ప్రయాణికులకు మెరుగైన రవాణా సౌకర్యాలు లభిస్తాయని వివరించారు.
మెట్రో ఫేజ్-Iను రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం స్వాధీనం చేసుకోవడం వల్ల ఫేజ్-II, ఫేజ్-III ప్రాజెక్టుల విస్తరణ మరింత సులభమవుతుందని సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఫేజ్-I ప్రభుత్వ పరిధిలో ఉండటం వల్ల ప్రణాళికలు వేగంగా అమలయ్యే అవకాశం ఉందని తెలిపారు.
భవిష్యత్తు అవసరాలను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని ఆర్జీఐ ఎయిర్పోర్ట్ నుంచి భారత్ ఫ్యూచర్ సిటీ వరకు మెట్రో ఫేజ్-III కారిడార్ను అభివృద్ధి చేయాలని కూడా కేంద్రానికి విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. ఫేజ్-IIIకు సంబంధించిన డీపీఆర్ను కూడా ఇప్పటికే సమర్పించినట్లు చెప్పారు.
ఈ సమావేశంలో కేంద్ర పట్టణాభివృద్ధి శాఖ అధికారులు, హైదరాబాద్ మెట్రో రైలు లిమిటెడ్ ప్రతినిధులు, తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ ఉన్నతాధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi and requested early approval for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II expansion project.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister explained that Hyderabad is rapidly expanding and requires a stronger urban transport network to meet future passenger demand. He informed the Union Minister that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Hyderabad Metro Phase-II, covering seven corridors over 122.9 kilometres with an estimated cost of ₹38,595 crore, has already been submitted to the Centre.
Revanth Reddy urged the Union government to approve the project as a joint venture between the Central and Telangana governments. He said the expansion would significantly improve public transport facilities and help reduce traffic congestion across Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister also explained that the Telangana government’s takeover of Metro Phase-I from L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited would help ensure smoother execution of Metro Phase-II and Phase-III projects in the future.
He further requested approval for the proposed RGIA Airport to Bharat Future City Metro corridor under Metro Phase-III. According to officials, the DPR for the Phase-III expansion has also been submitted to the Centre.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, and the Telangana government attended the meeting held in New Delhi.
