Telangana to Introduce AI-Based GST Monitoring System
తెలంగాణలో జీఎస్టీ ఆదాయాన్ని పెంచడంతో పాటు పన్నుల లీకేజీలను అరికట్టేందుకు ఆర్టిఫిషియల్ ఇంటెలిజెన్స్ (AI) ఆధారిత వ్యవస్థను అమలు చేయాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు.

తెలంగాణ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ వేగంగా విస్తరిస్తున్న నేపథ్యంలో రాష్ట్ర ఆదాయ వనరులను బలోపేతం చేయడంపై ప్రభుత్వం దృష్టి సారించింది. ఈ క్రమంలో జీఎస్టీ వసూళ్లను పెంచడం, పన్నుల లీకేజీలను అరికట్టడం కోసం ఆర్టిఫిషియల్ ఇంటెలిజెన్స్ (AI) ఆధారిత వ్యవస్థను రూపొందించాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు.
ఎంసీఆర్ హెచ్ఆర్డీ బోధి పెవిలియన్లో ప్రముఖ ఆర్థికవేత్త అరవింద్ సుబ్రమణియన్, రాష్ట్ర ఉన్నతాధికారులతో ముఖ్యమంత్రి సమావేశమయ్యారు. రాష్ట్ర ఆర్థిక పరిస్థితిని మరింత బలోపేతం చేయడం, జీఎస్టీ, ఎక్సైజ్ శాఖల్లో చేపట్టాల్సిన సంస్కరణలు, సాంకేతికత వినియోగంపై విస్తృతంగా చర్చించారు.
జీఎస్టీ అధికారులకు ఏఐ ఆధారిత సమాచార వ్యవస్థను అందుబాటులోకి తీసుకురావాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి సూచించారు. ఈ వ్యవస్థ ద్వారా పన్ను వసూళ్లను సమర్థవంతంగా పెంచడంతో పాటు వ్యాపారులకు ఎలాంటి ఇబ్బందులు కలగకుండా ‘ఈజ్ ఆఫ్ డూయింగ్ బిజినెస్’ మరింత మెరుగుపడేలా చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని పేర్కొన్నారు.
భవన నిర్మాణ రంగంలో పన్నుల లీకేజీలను అరికట్టేందుకు మున్సిపల్, రేరా, పంచాయతీరాజ్, విద్యుత్, ఆర్థిక, వాణిజ్య పన్నుల శాఖల మధ్య ఏఐ ఆధారిత సమన్వయ వ్యవస్థను ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఆదేశించారు. భారీ భవనాలు, కాంట్రాక్టు పనులకు అనుమతులు జారీ చేసే దశలోనే నిర్మాణ సామగ్రి అవసరాలు, అంచనా పన్ను వివరాలను నమోదు చేసే విధానాన్ని రూపొందించాలని సూచించారు.
మీసేవా, ఆరోగ్యశ్రీ, సీఎం రిలీఫ్ ఫండ్ వంటి ప్రభుత్వ సేవలకు సంబంధించిన డేటాను కూడా సమీకృతం చేసి పరిపాలనలో సమర్థవంతంగా వినియోగించే అవకాశాలను పరిశీలించాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి తెలిపారు.
సమావేశంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి సలహాదారు కె. రామకృష్ణా రావు, ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి సంజయ్ జాజు, వాణిజ్య పన్నుల శాఖ కార్యదర్శి రఘునందన్ రావు, ఎక్సైజ్ కమిషనర్ సీహెచ్ హరికిరణ్తో పాటు పలువురు ఉన్నతాధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

With Telangana’s economy expanding rapidly, the state government is focusing on strengthening revenue generation through technology-driven reforms. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system to improve GST collections and prevent tax leakages.
During a high-level meeting at the MCR HRD Bodhi Pavilion, the Chief Minister held discussions with noted economist Arvind Subramanian and senior state officials on strengthening the state’s financial position and implementing reforms in the GST and Excise departments.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to introduce an AI-enabled information system for GST officers to improve tax administration while ensuring that businesses do not face unnecessary hurdles. The objective, he said, is to enhance revenue without affecting the state’s Ease of Doing Business.
To curb tax leakages, particularly in the construction sector, the Chief Minister proposed integrating data from the Municipal Administration, RERA, Panchayat Raj, Electricity, Finance and Commercial Taxes departments through an AI-powered coordination platform.
He also suggested that details of construction materials and estimated tax liabilities should be captured at the building approval stage itself. Integrating data from MeeSeva, Aarogyasri and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund could further improve governance and data-driven decision-making, he added.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Commercial Taxes Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Excise Commissioner C.H. Harikiran and other senior officials.
