Hyderabad Tank Bund Protest: Ganesh Utsav Samithi Opposes Immersion Restrictions
హైదరాబాద్లోని ట్యాంక్బండ్ వద్ద సోమవారం భాగ్యనగర్ గణేష్ ఉత్సవ సమితి చేపట్టిన ఆందోళన ఉద్రిక్తతకు దారితీసింది. హుస్సేన్సాగర్లో గణేష్ విగ్రహాల నిమజ్జనంపై విధించిన ఆంక్షలను వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ సమితి ప్రతినిధులు బారికేడ్లను తొలగించేందుకు ప్రయత్నించడంతో పోలీసులు జోక్యం చేసుకున్నారు. Telangana Today
తెలంగాణ టుడే నివేదిక ప్రకారం, ఉదయం 11 గంటల సమయంలో పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో సమితి సభ్యులు ట్యాంక్బండ్కు చేరుకున్నారు. జీహెచ్ఎంసీ, హైదరాబాద్ పోలీసులు ఏర్పాటు చేసిన ఇనుప బారికేడ్లను తొలగించేందుకు వారు ప్రయత్నించడంతో పోలీసులు అడ్డుకున్నారు.
ట్యాంక్బండ్ పైభాగంలో గణేష్ విగ్రహాల నిమజ్జనానికి అనుమతి లేదని అధికారులు ఏర్పాటు చేసిన బోర్డుల్లో పేర్కొన్నారు. దీనిపై సమితి సభ్యులు అభ్యంతరం వ్యక్తం చేస్తూ నినాదాలు చేశారు. Telangana Today

Tension prevailed at Hyderabad’s Tank Bund on Monday after members of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi protested against restrictions on Ganesh idol immersion and attempted to remove barricades installed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad Police. Telangana Today
According to Telangana Today, a large group of Samithi members reached Tank Bund around 11 am and objected to the extensive iron barricading and banners installed along the area. Police intervened when protesters attempted to dismantle the barricades fixed along the lake railing.
Authorities have prohibited idol immersion along the upper Tank Bund stretch as part of the arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh immersion. The restrictions are linked to directions concerning immersion of Plaster of Paris idols in Hussain Sagar and protection of the water body. Telangana Today
Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi general secretary Ravinuthala Shashidhar demanded that devotees be allowed to continue immersions at Tank Bund. The Samithi has opposed restrictions on traditional immersion locations and questioned the arrangements made by civic authorities. Telangana Today
The Hyderabad administration, meanwhile, is preparing for the main Ganesh immersion scheduled for September 25. Authorities have been strengthening immersion platforms and deploying additional cranes and security arrangements around Hussain Sagar and adjoining areas. Telangana Today
