కన్నెపల్లి పంప్హౌస్ను పరిశీలించి మీడియాతో మాట్లాడేందుకు హైదరాబాద్ నుంచి బయలుదేరిన కేటీఆర్తో పాటు మాజీ వరంగల్, కరీంనగర్, నల్గొండ జిల్లాలకు చెందిన పలువురు ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, పార్టీ సీనియర్ నాయకులు కూడా ఉన్నారు. మార్గమధ్యంలో యాదగిరిగుట్ట మండలంలోని బాబుపేట స్టేజ్ వద్ద మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే గొంగిడి సునీత మహేందర్ రెడ్డి, పార్టీ కార్యకర్తలను కలిసి అనంతరం పర్యటనను కొనసాగించారు.
అయితే పెంబర్తి వద్ద పోలీసులు వాహనాలను నిలిపివేసి ముందుకు వెళ్లకుండా అడ్డుకున్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా బీఆర్ఎస్ నాయకులు పోలీసుల తీరును నిరసిస్తూ ఆందోళన చేపట్టారు. గోదావరి జలాలను సాగునీటి అవసరాలకు ఎత్తిపోసే బదులు సముద్రంలోకి వదిలేస్తోందని కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వంపై బీఆర్ఎస్ ఆరోపించింది.
ఈ ఘటనతో జాతీయ రహదారిపై కొంతసేపు ఉద్రిక్త వాతావరణం నెలకొంది. పరిస్థితిని అదుపులో ఉంచేందుకు పోలీసులు భారీగా బందోబస్తు ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. అధికారుల నుంచి ఈ ఘటనపై అధికారిక ప్రకటన వెలువడాల్సి ఉంది.

Tension prevailed on the Hyderabad–Warangal National Highway on Sunday after police intercepted BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) at Pembarthi in Jangaon district while he was on his way to inspect the Kannepalli Pump House.
KTR, accompanied by several BRS MLAs and senior leaders from the erstwhile Warangal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda districts, had left Hyderabad to inspect the pump house and address the media. During the journey, he stopped at Babupet Stage in Yadagirigutta Mandal to meet former MLA Gongidi Sunitha Mahender Reddy and party workers before proceeding further.
Police stopped the BRS convoy at Pembarthi, preventing the leaders from continuing their visit. The BRS alleged that the Congress government was suppressing democratic protests and failing to utilise Godavari River waters for irrigation, allowing them to flow into the sea instead.
The police action led to brief tension on the national highway as BRS leaders protested against the restrictions. Security personnel were deployed in large numbers to maintain law and order. Further official details on the incident are awaited.
