దర్యాప్తులో నిందితుడు ముఖ్యమంత్రి సన్నిహితుడినని, అధికార పరిచయాలు ఉన్నాయని చెప్పి బాధితుల విశ్వాసాన్ని పొందినట్లు గుర్తించారు. అనంతరం తక్కువ ధరకు బంగారం అందిస్తానని హామీ ఇచ్చి నగదు తీసుకున్నట్లు పోలీసులు తెలిపారు.
బాధితుల ఫిర్యాదు మేరకు కేసు నమోదు చేసిన పోలీసులు నిందితుడిని అదుపులోకి తీసుకుని విచారణ చేపట్టారు. ఈ మోసానికి మరికొందరు సహకరించారా, ఇంకా ఎంతమంది బాధితులు ఉన్నారనే కోణంలో కూడా దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగుతోంది.
ప్రజలు అధికారుల పేర్లు, ప్రభుత్వ పెద్దల పేర్లను ఉపయోగిస్తూ వచ్చే మోసగాళ్ల పట్ల అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలని పోలీసులు సూచించారు. అనుమానాస్పద ఆర్థిక లావాదేవీల విషయంలో అధికారిక ధృవీకరణ లేకుండా నగదు చెల్లించవద్దని హెచ్చరించారు.
