నెల్లూరు జిల్లా మర్రిపాడు మండలం కదిరినేనిపల్లికి చెందిన నారాయణమ్మకు ఆధార్లో నమోదైన తప్పు ఇప్పుడు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులకు దారితీసింది. ఆమె అసలు వయసు 36 సంవత్సరాలు కాగా, ఆధార్ కార్డులో పుట్టిన తేదీ 18-10-1924గా నమోదైంది. దీంతో అధికారిక రికార్డుల్లో ఆమె వయసు 102 సంవత్సరాలుగా కనిపిస్తోంది.
భర్త మరణించిన అనంతరం పింఛన్ కోసం దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునేందుకు వెళ్లిన సమయంలో ఈ పొరపాటు వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. ఆధార్లో నమోదైన తప్పుడు వివరాల కారణంగా పింఛన్ దరఖాస్తు ప్రక్రియలో సమస్యలు తలెత్తడంతో, తన వాస్తవ వయసును నిరూపించుకునేందుకు నారాయణమ్మ ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయాల చుట్టూ తిరుగుతోంది.

A major Aadhaar data entry error has left Narayanamma, a resident of Kadirinenipalli village in Marripadu mandal of Nellore district, struggling to access government benefits. Although she is only 36 years old, her Aadhaar card incorrectly records her date of birth as 18 October 1924, making her appear as 102 years old in official records.
The mistake came to light when she applied for a pension after the death of her husband. Due to the incorrect age in her Aadhaar, officials encountered discrepancies in processing her application, forcing her to visit multiple government offices to get the details corrected.
Aadhaar has become an essential identity document for accessing government welfare schemes, pensions, banking services, certificates and several public services. Errors in personal details such as date of birth, name or address often create significant hardships for beneficiaries.
During the early years of Aadhaar enrolment, many people registered with estimated details because they lacked birth certificates or supporting documents. Today, correcting such information requires documentary proof and completion of a formal verification process, which is particularly difficult for people in rural areas.
Narayanamma has appealed to the authorities to correct her Aadhaar details and ensure she receives the pension based on her actual age. The incident highlights the need for a faster and more citizen-friendly mechanism to rectify Aadhaar-related errors.
