రాజమహేంద్రవరంలో జరిగిన రోడ్డు ప్రమాదం రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా చర్చనీయాంశంగా మారింది. మద్యం మత్తులో కారును నడిపిన ఇద్దరు యువకులు స్కూటీని పలుమార్లు ఢీకొట్టిన ఘటనలో జీఎస్ఎల్ మెడికల్ కాలేజీలో పీజీ చదువుతున్న ప్రియాంక తీవ్రంగా గాయపడింది. ఆమెతో పాటు స్కూటీ నడుపుతున్న స్నేహితుడు కూడా గాయపడ్డాడు.
ప్రాథమిక సమాచారం ప్రకారం, మద్యం సేవించిన ఇద్దరు యువకులు ప్రసాద్ ఆదిత్య మాల్కు వెళ్లగా, వారి మత్తు స్థితిని గుర్తించిన మాల్ సిబ్బంది బ్రీత్ అనలైజర్ పరీక్ష నిర్వహించి లోపలికి అనుమతించలేదని తెలుస్తోంది. అనంతరం వారు కారులో బయటకు వెళ్లే సమయంలో మాల్ గేటు ముందు వెళ్తున్న స్కూటీని ఢీకొట్టినట్లు సమాచారం.

A serious road accident in Rajamahendravaram has sparked widespread concern after two youths allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol rammed a scooter multiple times, leaving a postgraduate medical student critically injured.
According to preliminary information, the two youths had reportedly visited Prasad Aditya Mall after consuming alcohol. Mall staff allegedly conducted a breath analyser test, found them intoxicated and denied them entry. Shortly afterwards, while leaving the premises in their car, they allegedly collided with a scooter passing near the mall entrance.
CCTV footage from the area reportedly shows the car striking the scooter more than once. The impact caused severe head injuries to Priyanka, a postgraduate student of GSL Medical College. She was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit, where doctors said her condition remains critical. Her friend, who was riding the scooter, also sustained injuries.
The CCTV footage has triggered debate over the nature of the incident. While some have alleged that the collision appeared deliberate, police have stated that, based on the available evidence so far, the incident appears to have occurred under the influence of alcohol. Officials said all aspects are being examined as part of the investigation.
Prakash Nagar Police have registered a case and taken the accused, identified as Daswanth and Joseph, into custody. Investigators are analysing CCTV footage, witness statements and forensic evidence to establish the sequence of events.
The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of drunk driving and the need for strict adherence to road safety regulations to prevent such tragedies.
