The Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company (TGSPDCL) is set to launch a comprehensive digital network mapping initiative aimed at improving electricity distribution and consumer services across Hyderabad. The first phase of the project will cover the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) limits.
Under the initiative, power distribution assets including electricity lines, transformers, switching equipment, and related infrastructure will be digitally mapped to create an accurate network database. The system is expected to help engineers identify faults faster and reduce restoration time during outages.
According to TGSPDCL officials, the project will enable quicker response to consumer complaints, improve field operations, strengthen preventive maintenance, and enhance the overall reliability of power supply in urban areas.
The initiative will be flagged off by TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil. Officials said the project represents another step toward modernising Telangana’s electricity distribution network through technology-driven asset management.
The utility has been pursuing digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and deliver faster, more reliable services to consumers.
