KTR Condemns Police Action
మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై పోలీసుల వ్యవహారశైలిపై కేటీఆర్ తీవ్ర ఆగ్రహం
తెలంగాణ అసెంబ్లీ సమావేశాల తొలిరోజు బీఆర్ఎస్ మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేల పట్ల పోలీసులు వ్యవహరించిన తీరుపై ఆ పార్టీ తీవ్రంగా మండిపడింది. ఎమ్మెల్యేలు సునీతా లక్ష్మారెడ్డి, సబితా ఇంద్రారెడ్డిని పోలీసులు లాగారని, దురుసుగా వ్యవహరించారని బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు ఆరోపించారు. ఈ ఘటనపై కేటీఆర్ కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని, ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డిని తీవ్రంగా విమర్శించారు.
కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వంలో మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలకే భద్రత లేకుండా పోయిందని కేటీఆర్ విమర్శించారు. మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలను పోలీసులు జుట్టు పట్టుకుని లాగారని, చీరలు పట్టుకుని ఈడ్చారని, దురుసుగా వ్యవహరించారని ఆరోపించారు. ఈ ఘటన అత్యంత అవమానకరమని, ఏ మనిషినీ ఇలాంటి అవమానానికి గురిచేయకూడదని పేర్కొన్నారు.
సునీతా లక్ష్మారెడ్డి పోలీసులు తన చీర పట్టుకుని లాగారని, మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలతో దురుసుగా ప్రవర్తించారని ఆరోపిస్తూ కన్నీటి పర్యంతమయ్యారు. మాజీ మంత్రి సబితా ఇంద్రారెడ్డి కూడా పోలీసులు తనను జుట్టు పట్టుకుని లాగారని ఆరోపించారు.
అసెంబ్లీకి నల్ల టీషర్టులు ధరించి వచ్చిన బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్యేలను పోలీసులు అడ్డుకోవడంతో ఉద్రిక్తత నెలకొంది. కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వ 1,000 రోజుల పాలన, ఎన్నికల హామీల అమలుపై నిరసనగా తాము నల్ల దుస్తులతో వచ్చినట్లు బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు తెలిపారు. నల్ల టీషర్టులపై అభ్యంతరకరమైన పదాలు ఉండటమే తమను అడ్డుకోవడానికి కారణమని పోలీసు అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
ఈ ఘటనలో పలువురు బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలకు స్వల్ప గాయాలైనట్లు పార్టీ వెల్లడించింది. కేటీఆర్, హరీశ్రావు తదితరులను పోలీసులు అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు. అనంతరం గాయపడిన నేతలకు తెలంగాణ భవన్లో వైద్యులు చికిత్స అందించారు.
మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలపై జరిగినట్లు ఆరోపిస్తున్న పోలీసుల చర్యలపై ప్రభుత్వం సమాధానం చెప్పాలని బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఇదే తరహా వ్యవహారం కాంగ్రెస్ నేతలు సోనియా గాంధీ లేదా ప్రియాంక గాంధీ పట్ల జరిగితే రాహుల్ గాంధీ మౌనంగా ఉంటారా అని కేటీఆర్ ప్రశ్నించారు. మహిళా ప్రజాప్రతినిధుల గౌరవాన్ని కాపాడాల్సిన బాధ్యత ప్రభుత్వంపై ఉందని ఆయన అన్నారు.
ఈ ఘటనపై బీఆర్ఎస్ మహిళా ఎమ్మెల్యేలు ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి క్షమాపణ చెప్పాలని, బాధ్యులైన పోలీసులపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు.
KTR Condemns Alleged Police Misconduct Against Women MLAs
The BRS has strongly condemned the alleged treatment of its women legislators by police during a confrontation outside the Telangana Assembly on the opening day of the Monsoon Session. BRS leaders alleged that MLAs V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy and P. Sabitha Indra Reddy were manhandled during the incident. KT Rama Rao strongly criticised the Congress government and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over the episode.
KTR alleged that the women MLAs were pulled by their hair and sarees and subjected to humiliating treatment. He described the alleged conduct as deplorable and said no person should be subjected to such humiliation.
Sunitha Laxma Reddy alleged that police personnel pulled her saree and behaved aggressively with the women legislators. Former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy also alleged that she was dragged by her hair during the confrontation.
The confrontation occurred after BRS legislators arrived at the Assembly wearing black T-shirts as a protest against what they described as the Congress government’s failure to fulfil its electoral promises during its 1,000 days in office. Police officials said the objection was not to black clothing itself, but to allegedly objectionable content printed on the T-shirts.
Several BRS leaders reportedly sustained minor injuries during the melee. KTR, T. Harish Rao and other leaders were detained by police, while the party later said that some injured leaders received medical treatment at Telangana Bhavan.
BRS leaders demanded an explanation from the government over the alleged treatment of elected women representatives and called for action against those responsible. KTR also questioned whether Rahul Gandhi would remain silent if similar treatment were meted out to Sonia Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi.
BRS women legislators demanded an apology from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and action against the police personnel involved in the incident.
