వంట గ్యాస్ సిలిండర్ల కొరత సమస్యకు పరిష్కారంగా తెలంగాణలో పైప్డ్ నేచురల్ గ్యాస్ (PNG) సేవలను ప్రభుత్వం వేగవంతం చేస్తోంది. కరీంనగర్, పెద్దపల్లి జిల్లాల్లో పైపులైన్ పనులు జరుగుతుండగా, కనెక్షన్ ఉన్న ప్రాంతాల్లో ఎల్పీజీ సరఫరాను తగ్గించే దిశగా చర్యలు తీసుకుంటున్నారు.
ప్రస్తుతం గ్యాస్ సిలిండర్ల కోసం ప్రజలు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న ఇబ్బందులను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని ఇంటింటికీ పైపులైన్ ద్వారా గ్యాస్ సరఫరా చేయాలని కేంద్రం నిర్ణయించింది. పీఎన్జీ అందుబాటులో ఉన్న ప్రాంతాల్లో మూడు నెలల తర్వాత ఎల్పీజీ సిలిండర్ల సరఫరాను నిలిపివేస్తామని ఇప్పటికే సూచనలు ఇచ్చింది.
కరీంనగర్ జిల్లా పరిధిలో రామగుండం నుంచి సుమారు 50 కిలోమీటర్ల పైపులైన్ నిర్మాణం చేపట్టగా, ఇందులో 20 కిలోమీటర్ల పనులు పూర్తయ్యాయి. మిగిలిన పనులను త్వరగా పూర్తి చేసి మరిన్ని ఇళ్లకు కనెక్షన్లు ఇవ్వాలని అధికారులు లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకున్నారు.
రామగుండం ఎన్టీపీసీ పరిసర ప్రాంతాల్లో ఇప్పటికే వందలాది ఇళ్లకు పైపులైన్ గ్యాస్ కనెక్షన్లు అందించారు. గౌతమినగర్, మార్కండేయ కాలనీ వంటి ప్రాంతాల్లో కూడా కనెక్షన్లు విస్తరిస్తున్నారు.
పీఎన్జీ వినియోగంలో ప్రధాన ప్రయోజనం నిరంతర సరఫరా. సిలిండర్ అయిపోతుందనే ఆందోళన లేకుండా గ్యాస్ అందుతుంది. వినియోగించిన మేరకు బిల్లింగ్ ఉండటంతో వినియోగదారులకు సౌలభ్యం ఉంటుంది.
భద్రత పరంగా కూడా పీఎన్జీ మెరుగైనదిగా నిపుణులు చెబుతున్నారు. పైపులైన్ గ్యాస్ తేలికగా గాలిలో కలిసిపోతుండటంతో ప్రమాదాల తీవ్రత తక్కువగా ఉంటుంది.
ప్రస్తుతం గోదావరిఖని పరిధిలో మాత్రమే ఉన్న ఈ సేవలను త్వరలో కరీంనగర్ నగరం మొత్తం విస్తరించేందుకు అధికారులు ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేస్తున్నారు.

The government is accelerating the implementation of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) services in Telangana to address the ongoing shortage of LPG cylinders. Pipeline work is currently underway in Karimnagar and Peddapalli districts, with plans to gradually reduce LPG supply in areas where PNG connections are available.
Due to increasing challenges in LPG distribution and supply delays, the Centre is focusing on providing uninterrupted gas supply directly to households through pipelines. Authorities have indicated that LPG cylinder supply may be discontinued three months after PNG becomes available in a locality.
In Karimnagar district, a pipeline project of around 50 kilometers from Ramagundam is being executed, out of which nearly 20 kilometers have already been completed. Officials aim to complete the remaining work quickly and expand connections to more households.
Several homes in NTPC areas of Ramagundam have already received PNG connections. Areas such as Gautaminagar and Markandeya Colony are also being covered under the expansion plan.
The key advantage of PNG is continuous supply without the need for booking cylinders. Consumers will be billed based on actual usage, making it more convenient and efficient.
Experts also highlight that PNG is safer compared to LPG cylinders, as natural gas disperses quickly in the air, reducing the risk of major accidents.
Currently limited to select areas in Godavarikhani, the service is expected to expand across Karimnagar city in the near future.
