The Telangana Cabinet has approved a mid-day meal scheme for students studying in government junior colleges across the State. The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held in Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the scheme is aimed at supporting students from economically weaker families and improving attendance levels in government junior colleges.
Officials stated that the initiative is expected to benefit thousands of intermediate students, particularly those from rural areas and low-income backgrounds. The government believes the programme will help reduce dropout rates and strengthen the public education system in Telangana.
