Bihar-Jharkhand Water Deal
బీహార్–జార్ఖండ్ మధ్య సుదీర్ఘకాలంగా కొనసాగుతున్న సోన్ నది జల వివాదానికి ఒప్పందంతో పరిష్కారం లభించింది. కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి, సహకార శాఖ మంత్రి అమిత్ షా సమక్షంలో ఇరు రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య సోన్ నది నీటి భాగస్వామ్యంపై అవగాహన ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది.

బీహార్, జార్ఖండ్ మధ్య సోన్ నది నీటి భాగస్వామ్యంపై అవగాహన ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది. కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి, సహకార శాఖ మంత్రి అమిత్ షా సమక్షంలో ఈ ఒప్పందంపై ఇరు రాష్ట్రాల ప్రతినిధులు సంతకాలు చేశారు. దీంతో తూర్పు భారతదేశంలో చాలాకాలంగా పరిష్కారం కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న జల వివాదానికి ముగింపు లభించిందని అమిత్ షా తెలిపారు.
ఈ ఒప్పందం ద్వారా బీహార్, జార్ఖండ్లోని విస్తారమైన గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో లక్షలాది మంది రైతులకు సాగునీరు అందే అవకాశం ఏర్పడుతుందని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు. వ్యవసాయ అవసరాలతో పాటు ప్రజలకు తాగునీటి లభ్యతను కూడా ఈ ఒప్పందం మెరుగుపరుస్తుందని తెలిపారు.
సోన్ నది జలాల సమర్థవంతమైన భాగస్వామ్యం ద్వారా ఇరు రాష్ట్రాల్లో సాగు, తాగునీటి అవసరాలకు ప్రయోజనం కలగనుంది. సుదీర్ఘకాలంగా కొనసాగుతున్న సమస్యకు పరస్పర అంగీకారంతో పరిష్కారం లభించడం కీలక పరిణామంగా నిలిచింది.
An agreement was signed between Bihar and Jharkhand for sharing the waters of the Sone River in the presence of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah. The agreement resolves a long-pending water dispute between the two eastern Indian states.
Amit Shah said the agreement would provide irrigation water to lakhs of farmers across large rural areas of Bihar and Jharkhand. It is also expected to support the drinking water requirements of people in the two states.
The sharing of Sone River water is expected to benefit agriculture and drinking water availability in both Bihar and Jharkhand. The resolution of the long-standing dispute through an agreement between the two states marks a significant development in water management in eastern India.
