Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy assured full support to South African businesses interested in investing in the state during a high-level meeting with South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile and his delegation in Hyderabad.
The meeting was held at the MCR HRD Institute and was attended by Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, and senior government officials. Discussions focused on strengthening trade, investment, and institutional cooperation between Telangana and South Africa.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister highlighted Telangana’s investor-friendly policies, strong industrial ecosystem, and growth opportunities across sectors including information technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, and innovation.
Deputy President Paul Mashatile, currently on an official visit to India, thanked the Telangana government for the warm welcome extended to his delegation. He also conveyed greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of the state’s Formation Day.
Mashatile praised Telangana’s rapid economic progress and described the state’s growth as a reflection of the determination, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of its people. He noted that Telangana has emerged as one of India’s significant contributors to national economic growth despite being among the country’s youngest states.
The South African leader expressed interest in expanding collaboration with Telangana in science, technology, innovation, and investment. He assured that South Africa’s High Commission in New Delhi would actively facilitate stronger business and institutional partnerships.
Speaking at the meeting, Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu emphasized Telangana’s strengths in IT, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, education, healthcare, infrastructure, manufacturing, and green energy. He noted that bilateral trade between India and South Africa has reached USD 15.57 billion and invited South African companies to explore investment opportunities in Telangana.
The Telangana government also expressed its willingness to encourage Telangana-based enterprises to expand business engagement in emerging sectors across South Africa.
