95 Lakh Women Targeted for Free Sarees
The government has reportedly allocated ₹334 crore for the 2026 free saree distribution programme, targeting approximately 95 lakh women across Telangana.
Unlike the previously distributed light-blue sarees, this year’s sarees have reportedly been selected in parrot-green colour with red zari borders.
Production of 65 Lakh Sarees Completed
According to the information provided, officials have completed the production of approximately 65 lakh sarees against the overall target of 95 lakh.
The completed sarees have reportedly been transported to various districts in preparation for distribution.

The distribution is scheduled to begin on November 19 and continue for seven days. Women belonging to families holding white ration cards are identified as the intended beneficiaries in the supplied report.
Beneficiaries will reportedly be required to show their Aadhaar cards to Panchayat officials at distribution centres or during doorstep distribution. Officials will then photograph beneficiaries through the application and verify their details before handing over the sarees.

The final distribution schedule, beneficiary verification guidelines and district-wise arrangements will be important for women awaiting the scheme.
