School Facilities: Handwashing 96.9%, Drinking Water 99.5%
గత 12 ఏళ్లలో దేశంలోని పాఠశాలల్లో పరిశుభ్రత, తాగునీటి సదుపాయాలు గణనీయంగా మెరుగుపడ్డాయి. 2013–14లో 43.1 శాతంగా ఉన్న చేతులు కడుక్కునే సదుపాయం కలిగిన పాఠశాలలు 2025–26 నాటికి 96.9 శాతానికి చేరుకున్నాయి. ఇదే కాలంలో తాగునీటి సదుపాయం ఉన్న పాఠశాలల శాతం 95.9 నుంచి 99.5కు పెరిగింది.
ఈ గణాంకాలు విద్యార్థులకు ఆరోగ్యకరమైన, సురక్షితమైన, మెరుగైన అభ్యసన వాతావరణాన్ని కల్పించే దిశగా సాధించిన పురోగతిని సూచిస్తున్నాయి. పాఠశాలల్లో పరిశుభ్రత, సురక్షిత తాగునీటి వసతుల విస్తరణ విద్యార్థుల ఆరోగ్యం, సంక్షేమానికి కీలకంగా మారింది.
Over the past 12 years, school infrastructure for hygiene and drinking water has improved significantly. Schools with handwashing facilities increased from 43.1% in 2013–14 to 96.9% in 2025–26, while access to drinking water rose from 95.9% to 99.5% during the same period.
The progress marks an important step towards creating healthier, safer and better learning environments for students. Improved access to basic hygiene and drinking water facilities is strengthening health and safety standards across schools.
