Narendra Modi praised the Netherlands for its globally recognised expertise in water management during his visit to the country.
Speaking after visiting the iconic Afsluitdijk project, the Prime Minister said the international community could learn significantly from the Netherlands’ pioneering work in water management and flood control systems.
Modi stated that he had the opportunity to understand the key engineering and management features of the Afsluitdijk project during the visit. He also thanked Rob Jetten for accompanying him during the tour.
The Prime Minister said India is committed to adopting modern technologies aimed at improving irrigation systems, strengthening flood protection mechanisms, and expanding inland waterway networks.
He highlighted that advanced water management practices would play a crucial role in sustainable development and climate resilience. Officials believe cooperation between India and the Netherlands in water infrastructure and technology could support long-term environmental and economic goals.
