ఈ ఘటనలో ఇద్దరు ప్రయాణికులను అరెస్టు చేసి, బంగారం అక్రమ రవాణా వెనుక ఉన్న ముఠాలపై దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు. ఈ స్మగ్లింగ్ వ్యవహారంలో మరికొందరి ప్రమేయం ఉందా అనే కోణంలో కూడా విచారణ చేపట్టారు.

Customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, Hyderabad, seized 2.271 kilograms of 24-carat gold valued at approximately ₹3.36 crore from two passengers who arrived from Kuala Lumpur.

According to Customs officials, the gold had allegedly been converted into paste form and concealed inside specially modified waistbands in an attempt to evade detection during airport screening. The suspicious concealment was detected during inspection, leading to the recovery of the smuggled gold.

Both passengers were arrested under the applicable provisions of the Customs Act, and further investigation is underway to determine whether the seizure is linked to an organised international gold smuggling network.
