కేంద్ర మంత్రివర్గం గువాహటి–తేజ్పూర్ నాలుగు లేన్ల యాక్సెస్ కంట్రోల్డ్ కారిడార్కు ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుతో ప్రయాణ సమయం తగ్గి, రహదారి భద్రతతో పాటు ప్రాంతీయ కనెక్టివిటీ మరింత మెరుగుపడనుంది.
న్యూఢిల్లీ: జాతీయ రహదారి-15 (NH-15)పై గువాహటి–తేజ్పూర్ మధ్య నాలుగు లేన్ల యాక్సెస్ కంట్రోల్డ్ కారిడార్ నిర్మాణానికి కేంద్ర మంత్రివర్గం ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు ద్వారా అస్సాంలో రవాణా మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు మరింత బలోపేతం కానున్నాయి.
ప్రయాణ సమయాన్ని తగ్గించడంతో పాటు రహదారి భద్రతను మెరుగుపరచేందుకు ఈ కారిడార్లో పలు కీలక ప్రాంతాల్లో బైపాస్లు నిర్మించనున్నారు. దీంతో ట్రాఫిక్ రద్దీ తగ్గి వాహనాల రాకపోకలు మరింత సులభతరం అవుతాయి.
ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులో భాగంగా తేజ్పూర్లో అత్యవసర పరిస్థితుల్లో విమానాలు దిగేందుకు ఎమర్జెన్సీ ల్యాండింగ్ ఫెసిలిటీ (Emergency Landing Facility) ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నారు. అదనంగా వంతెనలు, ఫ్లైఓవర్లు, అండర్పాస్లు, సర్వీస్ రోడ్లు కూడా నిర్మించబడతాయి.
ఈ కారిడార్ పూర్తయిన తర్వాత అస్సాం–అరుణాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య నిరంతర రహదారి అనుసంధానం బలోపేతం కావడంతో పాటు వాణిజ్యం, పర్యాటకం, ప్రాంతీయ ఆర్థికాభివృద్ధికి ఊతం లభించనుందని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తెలిపింది.

Major Connectivity Boost for Assam
The Union Cabinet has approved the four-lane access-controlled Guwahati–Tezpur Corridor on NH-15, a project aimed at reducing travel time, improving road safety and strengthening regional connectivity.
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet has approved the construction of a four-lane access-controlled Guwahati–Tezpur Corridor on National Highway-15 (NH-15). The project is expected to significantly improve transport infrastructure in Assam.
The corridor will reduce travel time, enhance road safety and ease traffic congestion through the construction of major bypasses at several locations along the route.
The project also includes an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) at Tezpur for defence and emergency operations, along with bridges, flyovers, underpasses and service roads to ensure smoother and safer travel.
Once completed, the corridor will strengthen seamless connectivity between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, while supporting trade, tourism, logistics and regional economic growth.
