తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం విద్యా రంగంలో కీలక సంస్కరణలకు శ్రీకారం చుట్టింది. ముఖ్యంగా ఫీజు రీయింబర్స్మెంట్, స్కాలర్షిప్ల చెల్లింపుల్లో ఆలస్యాన్ని తగ్గించేందుకు కొత్త విధానాన్ని అమలు చేయాలని నిర్ణయించింది. 2026-27 విద్యాసంవత్సరం నుంచి ఏ విద్యాసంవత్సరానికి సంబంధించిన ఫీజులను అదే ఏడాదిలో విడుదల చేసే విధానంపై ప్రభుత్వం దృష్టి పెట్టింది.
ప్రస్తుతం అమల్లో ఉన్న విధానం ప్రకారం ఒక విద్యాసంవత్సరానికి సంబంధించిన ఫీజులు తర్వాతి ఏడాదిలో విడుదల అవుతున్నాయి. దీనివల్ల విద్యార్థులు, ప్రైవేట్ కళాశాలలు, తల్లిదండ్రులు ఆర్థిక ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు. ఈ సమస్యను పరిష్కరించేందుకు ఎస్సీ సంక్షేమ శాఖ కొత్త ప్రతిపాదనలు సిద్ధం చేసింది.
కొత్త విధానం ప్రకారం ముందుగా దరఖాస్తు చేసుకున్న విద్యార్థులకు తొలి ప్రాధాన్యత ఇవ్వనున్నారు. ఫస్ట్ కమ్-ఫస్ట్ సర్వ్ విధానంలో నిధుల విడుదల చేపట్టే అవకాశముంది. ప్రతి ఏడాది రూ.2,300 కోట్ల నుంచి రూ.2,400 కోట్ల వరకు అవసరమయ్యే నిధులను విడతల వారీగా విడుదల చేయాలా లేదా ఒకేసారి చెల్లించాలా అనే అంశంపై ప్రభుత్వం త్వరలో స్పష్టత ఇవ్వనుంది.
ఇదిలా ఉండగా తెలంగాణ ఇంటర్మీడియట్ విద్యా మండలి కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. మే 4న విడుదల చేసిన ఇంటర్ అడ్మిషన్ల షెడ్యూల్ను తాత్కాలికంగా రద్దు చేసింది. రాష్ట్ర విద్యాశాఖ చేపట్టనున్న సంస్కరణల నేపథ్యంలో కొత్త మార్గదర్శకాలను రూపొందిస్తున్నట్లు బోర్డు తెలిపింది.
ప్రభుత్వ, ప్రైవేట్, ఎయిడెడ్, గురుకుల, మోడల్ జూనియర్ కళాశాలల్లో తదుపరి ఆదేశాలు వచ్చే వరకు అడ్మిషన్లు చేపట్టవద్దని ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేసింది. పదో తరగతి ఫలితాల తర్వాత అడ్మిషన్ల కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న విద్యార్థులు మరికొంతకాలం వేచి చూడాల్సిన పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడింది.

The Telangana government is preparing to introduce major reforms in the education sector, particularly in the fee reimbursement and scholarship payment system. From the 2026-27 academic year, the state is planning to ensure that tuition fee reimbursements are cleared within the same academic year instead of delaying payments to the following year.
At present, fee reimbursement dues are often released a year later, causing financial stress for students, parents, and private educational institutions. To address this issue, the SC Welfare Department, which acts as the nodal agency for welfare schemes, has prepared key proposals aimed at streamlining the process.
Under the proposed system, students who apply earlier may receive priority in fund disbursement through a first-come, first-served model. The government is also examining whether the annual allocation of around ₹2,300 crore to ₹2,400 crore should be released in phases or through a single payment mechanism.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has temporarily withdrawn the admission schedule that was issued on May 4. Officials said the move was linked to upcoming educational reforms being planned by the state government.
The board instructed all government, private, aided, gurukul, and model junior colleges not to proceed with admissions until further orders are issued. Students awaiting Intermediate admissions after SSC results may now have to wait for the revised schedule and updated guidelines.
