Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has expressed condolences over the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, brother of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum passed away on Monday at the age of 76, according to an announcement from the Dubai Ruler’s Court. Dubai has declared a 10-day official mourning period following his death.
Sheikh Ahmed served as Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security and held significant roles in public service, business and sports. His contributions to Dubai’s security and public life were recognised following his death.
In the condolence statement supplied for this report, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to Sheikh Ahmed’s public service and conveyed his sympathies to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Al Maktoum family and the people of Dubai.
