Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Traffic Police are planning to establish a dedicated communication system with IT companies to ensure that traffic advisories during heavy rainfall reach employees quickly, helping reduce congestion across key IT corridors.

Under the proposed initiative, traffic alerts related to heavy rain, waterlogging, road diversions and traffic congestion will be shared promptly with participating companies. The companies can then circulate the information to their employees, enabling them to plan their commute more effectively.

Officials said sudden downpours often result in thousands of employees leaving offices simultaneously, leading to severe traffic congestion on major roads in Cyberabad. To address this, the police also plan to coordinate with IT firms on implementing staggered office timings whenever weather conditions warrant such measures.

The initiative is aimed at improving traffic management during the monsoon season, reducing travel delays and ensuring faster dissemination of traffic advisories to commuters across Hyderabad’s IT hub.
