Hyderabad: Telangana is experiencing relatively high daytime temperatures even as the southwest monsoon withdrawal continues. The latest weather updates indicate that some parts of the State may receive rainfall from October 5, while dry conditions are expected to continue in several areas.
A Telangana Today report published on October 3 said daytime temperatures remained unusually high across Telangana. Jogulamba Gadwal recorded temperatures of around 37 degrees Celsius, while Mahabubnagar, Mancherial, Jagtial and Warangal recorded around 36.9 degrees Celsius.
Several parts of Hyderabad also recorded temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. According to the latest forecast cited in the report, October 4 is expected to remain largely dry, while isolated light to moderate rainfall could occur from October 5.
Meanwhile, a Times of India report published on October 4 said the southwest monsoon is continuing its withdrawal phase. The India Meteorological Department indicated that conditions could become favourable for further withdrawal from parts of Telangana and north interior Karnataka during the next two to three days.
At present, the latest verified information does not support a blanket claim that heavy rainfall will lash the entire State on October 5 and 6. District-wise IMD warnings should therefore be checked before publishing specific heavy-rain or alert claims.
Residents are advised to follow the latest official weather advisories as conditions can change rapidly during the transition period.
