హైదరాబాద్: తెలంగాణలో సెమీకండక్టర్ల పరిశ్రమ ఏర్పాటు చేసే అంశంపై సింగపూర్ ప్రతినిధి బృందం సానుకూలంగా స్పందించింది. సింగపూర్ మినిస్ట్రీ ఆఫ్ ట్రేడ్ అండ్ ఇండస్ట్రీ పర్మనెంట్ సెక్రటరీ ఆగస్టీన్ లీ నేతృత్వంలోని ప్రతినిధి బృందం ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డితో అసెంబ్లీలో సమావేశమై పారిశ్రామిక పెట్టుబడులపై చర్చించింది. సెమీకండక్టర్ పరిశ్రమ ఏర్పాటుపై సింగపూర్ ప్రతినిధులు సుముఖత వ్యక్తం చేసినట్లు అధికారిక ప్రకటనను ఉటంకిస్తూ పీటీఐ నివేదించింది.
తెలంగాణలో పెట్టుబడులకు ఉన్న అవకాశాలను ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి సింగపూర్ ప్రతినిధులకు వివరించారు. రాష్ట్రంలో పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టడంతో పాటు తెలంగాణ అభివృద్ధికి ఆర్థిక సహకారం అందించాలని ఆయన కోరారు. పెట్టుబడులకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం పూర్తి సహకారం అందిస్తుందని హామీ ఇచ్చారు.
డిసెంబర్లో నిర్వహించనున్న తెలంగాణ గ్లోబల్ సమ్మిట్లో పాల్గొనాలని ఆగస్టీన్ లీని ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఆహ్వానించారు. సింగపూర్ కంపెనీలు తెలంగాణలో పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టేందుకు ఉన్న అవకాశాలను పరిశీలించాలని పరిశ్రమల శాఖ మంత్రి డి. శ్రీధర్ బాబు కూడా పిలుపునిచ్చినట్లు తెలంగాణ టుడే నివేదించింది. సెమీకండక్టర్ ఫ్యాబ్రికేషన్, అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలు, సమగ్ర సరఫరా వ్యవస్థ వంటి రంగాల్లో అవకాశాలను ఆయన ప్రస్తావించారు.
సమావేశంలో మూసీ పునరుజ్జీవన ప్రాజెక్టు, భారత్ ఫ్యూచర్ సిటీ అభివృద్ధి ప్రణాళికలను కూడా ముఖ్యమంత్రి సింగపూర్ ప్రతినిధులకు వివరించారు. మూసీ ప్రాజెక్టు తొలి దశ పనులు, నైట్ ఎకానమీ అభివృద్ధి ప్రణాళికల గురించి వివరించినట్లు పీటీఐ నివేదించింది.
హైదరాబాద్ను నాలెడ్జ్ హబ్గా అభివృద్ధి చేయడంతో పాటు భారత్ ఫ్యూచర్ సిటీని నెట్-జీరో సిటీగా తీర్చిదిద్దే ప్రణాళికలను కూడా ముఖ్యమంత్రి వివరించారు. భవిష్యత్ నగర అభివృద్ధిలో సింగపూర్ అనుభవం, సాంకేతిక పరిజ్ఞానం ఉపయోగపడే అవకాశాలపై చర్చలు జరిగాయి.
హైదరాబాద్లో హార్వర్డ్, ఆక్స్ఫర్డ్, ఎంఐటీ, లండన్ స్కూల్ ఆఫ్ బిజినెస్ ఆఫ్షోర్ క్యాంపస్ల ఏర్పాటుకు సంబంధించిన ఒప్పందాలను కూడా ముఖ్యమంత్రి సింగపూర్ ప్రతినిధుల దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లారు.
సింగపూర్ ప్రతినిధి బృందంలో ఆగస్టీన్ లీతో పాటు దక్షిణాసియా సీనియర్ డైరెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ ఫ్రాన్సిస్ చోంగ్, సింగపూర్ కాన్సుల్ జనరల్ విలియం చిక్ తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు. తెలంగాణ తరఫున ప్రభుత్వ సలహాదారు కె. రామకృష్ణారావు తదితరులు సమావేశంలో పాల్గొన్నారు.
తెలంగాణలో సెమీకండక్టర్ రంగాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేయడానికి అంతర్జాతీయ భాగస్వామ్యాలను ఆకర్షించే ప్రయత్నాల్లో భాగంగా ఈ సమావేశం జరిగింది. సింగపూర్ కంపెనీల నుంచి పెట్టుబడులపై సానుకూల స్పందన రావడం రాష్ట్ర సెమీకండక్టర్, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్స్ తయారీ రంగానికి సంబంధించిన తదుపరి చర్చలకు ప్రాతిపదికగా మారనుంది.
Hyderabad: A Singapore delegation has expressed willingness to explore setting up a semiconductor industry in Telangana. The delegation, led by Augustine Lee, Permanent Secretary of the Energy Market Division under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the Telangana Assembly on Wednesday to discuss industrial investments. The semiconductor proposal was confirmed in an official release cited by PTI.
During the meeting, Revanth Reddy explained the investment opportunities available in Telangana and sought Singapore’s participation in the state’s development. He assured the delegation that the Telangana government would extend full support to companies interested in investing in the state.
The Chief Minister also invited Augustine Lee and the Singapore delegation to participate in the Telangana Global Summit scheduled to be held in December. Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu separately invited Singapore companies to explore opportunities in Telangana’s semiconductor ecosystem, including semiconductor fabrication, ancillary industries and an integrated supply chain.
The meeting also covered the Musi River rejuvenation project and the development plans for Bharat Future City. Revanth Reddy explained the first phase of the Musi project and the government’s plans to promote a night economy along the riverfront.
The Chief Minister outlined plans to develop Hyderabad as a global Knowledge Hub and Bharat Future City as a net-zero city. The discussions also highlighted potential areas where Singapore’s industrial and technological expertise could contribute to Telangana’s development.
Revanth Reddy also informed the Singapore delegation about agreements involving Harvard University, Oxford University, MIT and London School of Business for establishing offshore campuses in Hyderabad, according to the official release cited by PTI.
The Singapore delegation included Augustine Lee, South Asia Senior Director Dr Francis Chong and Singapore Consul General William Chik, among others. Telangana government adviser K Ramakrishna Rao and other officials also participated in the meeting.
The discussion forms part of Telangana’s efforts to attract international investment into high-value sectors, particularly semiconductors, electronics and advanced manufacturing. The positive response from the Singapore delegation could lead to further discussions on semiconductor-related investments in the state.
