India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem Expanding Rapidly: PM Modi at SEMICON India 2026

భారత్‌లో సెమీకండక్టర్ పర్యావరణ వ్యవస్థ వేగంగా విస్తరిస్తోందని ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ అన్నారు. ఢిల్లీలోని యశోభూమిలో గురువారం ప్రారంభమైన SEMICON India 2026లో ప్రసంగిస్తూ, ఈ విస్తరణతో ఆవిష్కరణలు, పెట్టుబడులు, ఆర్థిక వృద్ధికి కొత్త అవకాశాలు ఏర్పడుతున్నాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.

భారత్ సెమీకండక్టర్ ప్రయాణం రెండో దశలోకి ప్రవేశించిందని మోదీ తెలిపారు. గత కొన్నేళ్లలో దేశంలో సెమీకండక్టర్ తయారీ సామర్థ్యాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేసేందుకు చేపట్టిన కార్యక్రమాల తర్వాత, ఇప్పుడు వాణిజ్య స్థాయిలో చిప్ ఉత్పత్తి దిశగా ముందుకు సాగుతున్నట్లు చెప్పారు.

“సిలికాన్ టు సిస్టమ్స్: బిల్డింగ్ ది ఎకోసిస్టమ్” అనే థీమ్‌తో సెప్టెంబర్ 17 నుంచి 19 వరకు యశోభూమిలో SEMICON India 2026 జరుగుతోంది. భారత్‌తో పాటు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న సెమీకండక్టర్, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్స్ సంస్థలు, పెట్టుబడిదారులు, పరిశోధకులు, స్టార్టప్‌లు, విద్యా సంస్థలు ఇందులో పాల్గొంటున్నాయి.

ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో చిప్ డిజైన్, సెమీకండక్టర్ తయారీ, అడ్వాన్స్‌డ్ ప్యాకేజింగ్, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్ సిస్టమ్స్, పరిశోధన, నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి వంటి మొత్తం విలువ శ్రేణిపై చర్చలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. 600కుపైగా సంస్థలు, 52 దేశాల ప్రతినిధులు పాల్గొంటున్నట్లు ప్రధానమంత్రి కార్యాలయం వెల్లడించింది.

సెమీకండక్టర్ రంగంలో పెట్టుబడులు, సాంకేతిక ఆవిష్కరణలు, అంతర్జాతీయ భాగస్వామ్యాలను మరింత పెంచే లక్ష్యంతో ఈ సదస్సు నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. సెమీకండక్టర్ తయారీతో పాటు డిజైన్, ప్యాకేజింగ్, పరికరాలు, మెటీరియల్స్, పరిశోధన, ప్రతిభాభివృద్ధి వంటి విభాగాలను కలుపుకుని సమగ్ర పర్యావరణ వ్యవస్థను అభివృద్ధి చేయడంపై దృష్టి పెట్టారు.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s semiconductor ecosystem is expanding rapidly, creating new opportunities for innovation, investment and economic growth. Addressing SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi on Thursday, he highlighted the country’s progress in the semiconductor sector.

Modi said India has entered the second phase of its semiconductor journey. After building capabilities and attracting investments in recent years, the country is now moving towards commercial chip production and a broader semiconductor value chain.

SEMICON India 2026 is being held from September 17 to 19 at Yashobhoomi under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.” The event brings together semiconductor and electronics companies, investors, researchers, startups, policymakers and academic institutions from India and abroad.

The event covers the wider semiconductor value chain, including chip design, manufacturing, advanced packaging, electronic systems, research and development, and workforce development. More than 600 companies and representatives from 52 countries are participating, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The three-day event is focused on strengthening investment, technological innovation and international collaboration in the semiconductor sector. It also places emphasis on developing an integrated ecosystem covering design, fabrication, packaging, equipment, materials, research and talent development
