అమెరికా పర్యటన రద్దు.. యూకే పర్యటన కొనసాగింపు
కేంద్ర విదేశాంగ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ నుంచి అమెరికా పర్యటనకు అనుమతి లభించకపోవడంతో తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి నేతృత్వంలోని ప్రతినిధి బృందం అమెరికా పర్యటనను రద్దు చేసుకుంది. అయితే యూకే పర్యటనను కొనసాగించాలని నిర్ణయించింది.
విధివిధానాలు, ప్రోటోకాల్ ప్రకారం ముఖ్యమంత్రి నేతృత్వంలోని యూకే, అమెరికా పర్యటనలకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం కేంద్ర అనుమతి కోరింది. తొలుత యూకే పర్యటనకు మాత్రమే అనుమతి లభించగా, అధికారిక ప్రతినిధి బృందం యూకేకు చేరుకున్న అనంతరం అమెరికా పర్యటనకు అనుమతి ఇవ్వడం లేదని కేంద్రం రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి సమాచారం ఇచ్చింది.
తెలంగాణ అభివృద్ధి, విద్యా రంగ పురోగతితో పాటు వికసిత్ భారత్ నిర్మాణానికి దోహదపడే ఉద్దేశంతో చేపట్టిన పర్యటనకు రాజకీయ కారణాలతో అనుమతి నిరాకరించడంపై రేవంత్ రెడ్డి అసంతృప్తి వ్యక్తం చేశారు. అయితే కేంద్ర నిర్ణయాన్ని గౌరవిస్తూ బోస్టన్ పర్యటనను రద్దు చేసుకుని లండన్ నుంచి హైదరాబాద్కు తిరిగి రావాలని నిర్ణయించారు.
ప్రపంచంలోని ప్రముఖ విద్యా సంస్థలను భారత్, తెలంగాణ, హైదరాబాద్కు తీసుకురావడమే పర్యటన ప్రధాన ఉద్దేశమని రేవంత్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు. నూతన విద్యా విధానంలో భాగంగా అత్యుత్తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల నుంచి విద్య, నైపుణ్యాలు, శిక్షణ పొందాలన్న యువత ఆకాంక్షలకు ఈ భాగస్వామ్యాలు ఉపయోగపడతాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.
దేశ నిర్మాణం, యువత భవిష్యత్తు వంటి అంశాల్లో రాజకీయాలు, ఎన్నికలకు అతీతంగా ఆలోచించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి అన్నారు. అమెరికా పర్యటనకు సంబంధించిన కార్యక్రమాలను అధికారులు కొనసాగించాలని, ఇప్పటికే సంప్రదింపులు జరిపిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలతో అవగాహన ఒప్పందాలు, భాగస్వామ్య ఒప్పందాలను పూర్తి చేయాలని ఆదేశించారు.

US Trip Cancelled Over Centre’s Nod Denial; Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Continues UK Visit
The US leg of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s official foreign tour has been cancelled after the Union Ministry of External Affairs denied permission for the visit. The delegation will continue its scheduled UK engagements.
The Telangana government had sought the Centre’s approval, as required under official procedures and protocol, for the Chief Minister-led delegation’s visit to the UK and the US. Permission was initially granted only for the UK leg. After the delegation reached the UK, the Centre informed the state government that approval for the US visit would not be granted.
The Chief Minister expressed disappointment over the decision, stating that the proposed US visit was aimed at strengthening Telangana’s development and education sectors and contributing to the broader goal of building a developed India. However, respecting the Centre’s decision, he decided to cancel the Boston leg and return to Hyderabad from London.
Revanth Reddy said the primary objective of the proposed US visit was to explore partnerships with globally renowned educational institutions and bring leading academic opportunities to India, Telangana and Hyderabad. He said such collaborations could help address the aspirations of young people seeking world-class education, skills and training.
He stressed that issues concerning nation-building and the future of young people should be viewed beyond political and electoral considerations.
Despite the cancellation of the US visit, the Chief Minister directed officials to continue the planned engagements with American universities with which discussions had already been initiated. Officials were asked to pursue and finalise necessary MoUs and partnership agreements.
Revanth Reddy reiterated his vision of developing Hyderabad into a global knowledge hub. He highlighted the city’s established educational institutions, including Osmania University, the University of Hyderabad, JNTU, IIT Hyderabad, ISB, IIIT and NALSAR, as important contributors to Hyderabad’s human-capital ecosystem.
During the UK visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to engage with institutions including the University of Oxford, Cambridge, the London School of Economics, London Business School and the University of London.
He is also expected to meet leading sports organisations and skill-development sector representatives in the UK to explore and formalise partnerships with Telangana.
Revanth Reddy said his objective is to make Hyderabad one of the world’s leading cities and create opportunities for people in India to access education, certification and training from globally recognised institutions without having to travel abroad.
