కేంద్ర విదేశాంగ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ అమెరికా పర్యటనకు అనుమతి ఇవ్వకపోవడంతో తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి అమెరికా పర్యటన రద్దయింది. ప్రస్తుతం లండన్ పర్యటనలో ఉన్న ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఆగస్టు 23న లండన్ నుంచే హైదరాబాద్కు తిరిగి రానున్నారు.
రేవంత్ రెడ్డి లండన్ పర్యటన అనంతరం ఆగస్టు 23న అమెరికా వెళ్లాల్సి ఉంది. ఇందుకు సంబంధించిన టూర్ షెడ్యూల్ కూడా సిద్ధమైంది. అయితే ముఖ్యమంత్రుల విదేశీ పర్యటనలకు సంబంధించిన ప్రోటోకాల్ ప్రకారం కేంద్ర అనుమతి తప్పనిసరి కావడంతో తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం యూకే, అమెరికా పర్యటనలకు అనుమతి కోరింది.
కేంద్ర విదేశాంగ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ యూకే పర్యటనకు మాత్రమే అనుమతి ఇచ్చింది. అమెరికా పర్యటనకు మాత్రం క్లియరెన్స్ ఇవ్వలేదు. దీంతో అమెరికా పర్యటనను రద్దు చేసుకుని లండన్ నుంచే హైదరాబాద్కు తిరిగి రావాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి నిర్ణయించారు.
ప్రస్తుతం లండన్ పర్యటనలో ఉన్న రేవంత్ రెడ్డి శుక్రవారం ఆక్స్ఫర్డ్ యూనివర్సిటీలోని బ్లావట్నిక్ స్కూల్ ఆఫ్ గవర్నమెంట్ను సందర్శించనున్నారు. అనంతరం ఎమిరేట్స్ స్టేడియంలో జరిగే ఫుట్బాల్ ప్రజంటేషన్ కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొననున్నారు.
ఆగస్టు 22న కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ ప్రతినిధులతో సమావేశం కానున్నారు. లండన్లో పలు కార్యక్రమాల్లో పాల్గొన్న అనంతరం ఆగస్టు 23న యూకే పర్యటన ముగించుకుని అమెరికాకు వెళ్లాల్సి ఉండగా, కేంద్రం అనుమతి నిరాకరించడంతో నేరుగా హైదరాబాద్కు తిరిగి రానున్నారు.
కేంద్రం అనుమతి ఎందుకు ఇవ్వలేదు?
ముఖ్యమంత్రుల విదేశీ పర్యటనలకు కేంద్ర విదేశాంగ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ అనుమతి తీసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఈ నిబంధనల ప్రకారం తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి యూకే, అమెరికా పర్యటనలకు అనుమతి కోరుతూ కేంద్రానికి లేఖ రాసింది.
కేంద్రం యూకే పర్యటనకు అనుమతి ఇచ్చినప్పటికీ అమెరికా పర్యటనకు అనుమతి ఇవ్వలేదు. దీంతో అమెరికా పర్యటన రద్దయింది. అయితే అమెరికా పర్యటనలో చేపట్టాల్సిన విద్య, నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి, అంతర్జాతీయ భాగస్వామ్యాలకు సంబంధించిన కార్యక్రమాలను అధికారులు కొనసాగించే అవకాశం ఉంది.
CM Revanth Reddy US Visit Cancelled; Centre Denies Permission
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s proposed visit to the United States has been cancelled after the Ministry of External Affairs did not grant permission for the trip. The Chief Minister, who is currently on an official visit to London, is expected to return to Hyderabad from London on August 23 instead of proceeding to the US.
Revanth Reddy had been scheduled to travel from London to the United States on August 23 as part of his foreign tour. However, the Union Ministry of External Affairs granted clearance only for the UK leg of the visit and did not approve the proposed US trip.
The Telangana government had sought the Centre’s permission for both the London and US visits in accordance with the protocol applicable to foreign travel by Chief Ministers. Following the Centre’s decision, the US leg of the tour has been cancelled.
During his UK visit, Revanth Reddy is scheduled to visit the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford on Friday. He is also scheduled to attend a football presentation programme at Emirates Stadium.
On August 22, the Chief Minister is scheduled to meet representatives of the University of Cambridge and participate in other engagements in London. His UK visit will conclude on August 23, after which he will return to Hyderabad instead of travelling to the US.
The proposed US visit was intended to include engagements focused on education, skills, international partnerships and opportunities for Telangana. The cancellation follows the Centre’s decision to withhold permission for the US leg of the tour.
Why Was the US Visit Cancelled?
Under the protocol governing foreign visits by Chief Ministers, state governments are required to obtain clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs. The Telangana government had approached the Centre seeking permission for Revanth Reddy’s proposed visits to both the UK and the US.
The Centre approved the UK visit but did not grant clearance for the US leg. As a result, Revanth Reddy will not travel to the United States and will return to Hyderabad from London on August 23.
