హైదరాబాద్: కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం అమల్లోకి తీసుకొచ్చిన వీబీ-జీ రామ్-జీ (VB-G RAM G) గ్రామీణ ఉపాధి చట్టాన్ని అమలు చేస్తూనే, అందులోని కొన్ని నిబంధనలను సుప్రీంకోర్టులో సవాలు చేయాలని తెలంగాణ కేబినెట్ నిర్ణయించింది.

జూలై 1 నుంచి దేశవ్యాప్తంగా అమలులోకి వచ్చిన కొత్త గ్రామీణ ఉపాధి చట్టాన్ని రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం అమలు చేయనున్నప్పటికీ, రాష్ట్రాల హక్కులు మరియు సమాఖ్య స్ఫూర్తికి విరుద్ధంగా ఉన్న నిబంధనలపై న్యాయపోరాటం కొనసాగించాలని కేబినెట్ సమావేశంలో నిర్ణయించారు.

సమాచార, ప్రజాసంబంధాల శాఖ మంత్రి పొంగులేటి శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి మీడియాతో మాట్లాడుతూ, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాల అభ్యంతరాలు, కార్మిక సంఘాల అభిప్రాయాలను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకోకుండా కేంద్రం ఈ చట్టాన్ని తీసుకొచ్చిందని ఆరోపించారు. రాష్ట్ర ప్రయోజనాలను కాపాడేందుకు సుప్రీంకోర్టును ఆశ్రయిస్తామని తెలిపారు.

ఈ అంశంపై మంత్రి ఎన్. ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి అధ్యక్షతన పనిచేసిన కేబినెట్ ఉపసంఘం సమర్పించిన నివేదికను కేబినెట్ విస్తృతంగా చర్చించినట్లు ప్రభుత్వం వెల్లడించింది. గ్రామీణ ప్రజలకు ఉపాధి కల్పనలో అంతరాయం కలగకుండా పథకాన్ని అమలు చేస్తూనే, రాష్ట్ర ఆర్థిక భారం, అధికారాల పంపకం వంటి అంశాలపై న్యాయపరమైన స్పష్టత కోరనున్నట్లు తెలిపింది.

తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ఈ నిర్ణయాన్ని రాష్ట్రాల రాజ్యాంగబద్ధ హక్కుల పరిరక్షణతో పాటు గ్రామీణ ఉపాధి నిరంతరతను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని తీసుకున్నట్లు అధికార వర్గాలు పేర్కొన్నాయి.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet has decided to implement the Centre’s new VB-G RAM G rural employment legislation while simultaneously challenging certain provisions of the law before the Supreme Court, arguing that they affect states’ rights and the federal structure.

Although the new legislation came into force from July 1, the state government has chosen to continue implementing the programme to ensure that rural workers do not lose employment opportunities while pursuing legal remedies against provisions it considers detrimental to state interests.

Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Centre enacted the law despite objections raised by several state governments and stakeholders. He said Telangana would approach the Supreme Court to safeguard its constitutional rights while implementing the scheme.

The Cabinet also discussed the report submitted by a sub-committee headed by Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, which examined the implications of the legislation. According to the government, the legal challenge will focus on provisions that it believes undermine the federal balance and increase the financial burden on states.

The state maintained that its decision balances two objectives: protecting rural livelihoods through uninterrupted implementation of the employment programme and defending the constitutional powers of states through judicial review.
