నకిలీ పెట్టుబడి పథకాలు, క్రిప్టోకరెన్సీ మోసాలు, కాల్ సెంటర్ ఆధారిత ఆన్లైన్ మోసాలు వేగంగా పెరుగుతున్నాయని అధికారులు తెలిపారు. సామాజిక మోసపూరిత పద్ధతులు ఉపయోగించి ప్రజలను మభ్యపెట్టి బ్యాంకు ఖాతాల నుంచి భారీ మొత్తాలను దోచుకుంటున్నారని పేర్కొన్నారు.
సందేహాస్పద లావాదేవీలను వెంటనే గుర్తించే విధంగా బ్యాంకులు తమ మానిటరింగ్ వ్యవస్థలను మరింత బలోపేతం చేయాలని పోలీసులు సూచించారు. సైబర్ నేరాలకు సంబంధించిన ఖాతాలను త్వరగా ఫ్రీజ్ చేయడానికి బ్యాంకులు, సైబర్ క్రైమ్ విభాగాల మధ్య సమన్వయం పెంచాలని ఆదేశించారు.
అదేవిధంగా ప్రజలు తమ ఓటీపీలు, బ్యాంకింగ్ వివరాలు, పెట్టుబడి సమాచారం తెలియని వ్యక్తులతో పంచుకోవద్దని హెచ్చరించారు. హైదరాబాద్ మరియు పరిసర జిల్లాల్లో త్వరలో విస్తృత అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించనున్నట్లు అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు.

Cyberabad Police revealed that cyber fraud losses in the commissionerate crossed Rs 104 crore this year, highlighting the growing threat of online financial scams in Telangana. The figures were disclosed during a coordination meeting held between bankers and cybercrime officials in Hyderabad.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh expressed concern over the sharp rise in cyber fraud cases involving fake investment schemes, cryptocurrency scams and organized call-center fraud networks. Officials stated that fraudsters are increasingly using sophisticated digital methods, including impersonation calls, social engineering tactics and fake trading applications, to target citizens.
Police advised banks to strengthen transaction monitoring systems and improve coordination with cybercrime units for faster account freezing and investigation support. Authorities said early detection and immediate reporting are critical in reducing financial losses.
The police also urged the public not to share OTPs, banking credentials or investment-related information with unknown callers or online platforms. Awareness campaigns on cyber safety are expected to intensify across Hyderabad and nearby districts in the coming weeks.
Cybercrime officials noted that online frauds are affecting ordinary citizens, professionals and senior citizens across Telangana, making cyber awareness a major public safety concern.
