Jogi Ramesh’s Daughter-in-Law Meghana Makes Allegations Over Family’s Religious Identity
Meghana, daughter-in-law of former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSR Congress Party leader Jogi Ramesh, has made serious allegations against his family amid an ongoing marital dispute. She alleged that the family had presented themselves differently before her marriage and that she faced pressure over religious practices after entering the household.
According to Meghana’s allegations, Jogi Ramesh’s family had presented themselves as a BC and Hindu family before the marriage. She claimed that after moving into the marital home, she did not find Hindu religious photographs or a dedicated puja room and alleged that the family followed Christian prayers.
Meghana further alleged that she was pressured to follow Christianity and faced objections when she practised Hindu religious rituals. She also alleged that derogatory remarks were made about her use of incense sticks for worship.
The religious allegations are part of a wider family dispute. Meghana has previously made allegations of domestic violence, dowry harassment and other forms of alleged mistreatment against members of the Jogi Ramesh family, according to media reports.
Jogi Ramesh has denied the allegations and said the dispute arose from differences between his son Rajeev and Meghana. He said the family had attempted to resolve their differences and alleged that the matter was being politicised.
The allegations, including those concerning religious identity and alleged pressure to convert, remain claims made by the respective parties. The facts will have to be established through the relevant complaints, evidence and police investigation.
