Telangana Chief Secretary Reviews El Niño Contingency Plan, Directs District Collectors to Strengthen Farmer Preparedness

తెలంగాణలో ఎల్ నినో పరిస్థితులను సమర్థవంతంగా ఎదుర్కొనేందుకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం రూపొందించిన ఎల్ నినో కాంటింజెన్సీ ప్లాన్ అమలుపై రాష్ట్ర ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి సంజయ్ జాజు, ఐఏఎస్ జిల్లా కలెక్టర్లతో వీడియో కాన్ఫరెన్స్ నిర్వహించారు.
హైదరాబాద్లోని తెలంగాణ సచివాలయం నుంచి నిర్వహించిన ఈ సమీక్ష సమావేశంలో జిల్లా స్థాయిలో ప్రణాళిక అమలును వేగవంతం చేయాలని అధికారులకు ఆదేశించారు. రైతుల్లో విస్తృత అవగాహన కల్పించడంతో పాటు వాతావరణ మార్పులకు అనుకూలమైన, తక్కువ నీటితో సాగు చేయగల పంటలను ప్రోత్సహించాలని సూచించారు.
వ్యవసాయం, ఉద్యానవనం, నీటిపారుదల తదితర శాఖల మధ్య సమన్వయాన్ని మరింత బలోపేతం చేసి, ప్రతి గ్రామ స్థాయికి కాంటింజెన్సీ ప్రణాళికను సమర్థవంతంగా అమలు చేయాలని ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి ఆదేశించారు. వర్షాభావ పరిస్థితులను ముందుగానే అంచనా వేసి రైతులకు అవసరమైన సూచనలు, సహాయ చర్యలు అందుబాటులో ఉండేలా చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని పేర్కొన్నారు.
రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం వాతావరణ మార్పుల ప్రభావాన్ని తగ్గిస్తూ రైతుల ఆదాయాన్ని కాపాడేందుకు ముందస్తు కార్యాచరణకు ప్రాధాన్యత ఇస్తోందని అధికారులు తెలిపారు.

Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, IAS, held a video conference with District Collectors from the Telangana Secretariat to review the implementation of the State’s El Niño Contingency Plan.
During the meeting, he directed officials to accelerate implementation of the contingency measures across all districts. He instructed the administration to intensify farmer awareness programmes and encourage the cultivation of climate-resilient and low water-consuming crops to minimise the impact of possible adverse weather conditions.
The Chief Secretary also emphasised stronger coordination among Agriculture, Horticulture, Irrigation and other departments to ensure seamless execution of the contingency plan. He directed officials to take the implementation down to the village level so that farmers receive timely guidance and support.
The review reflects the Telangana Government’s focus on proactive planning and climate-resilient agriculture to safeguard farmers and agricultural productivity during potential El Niño conditions.
