న్యూఢిల్లీ: భారత మాజీ ప్రధానమంత్రి ఇందిరా గాంధీ వర్ధంతి సందర్భంగా తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి శనివారం న్యూఢిల్లీలోని శక్తి స్థల్ వద్ద ఆమెకు పుష్పాంజలి ఘటించి నివాళులర్పించారు.

దేశ తొలి మహిళా ప్రధానమంత్రిగా పనిచేసిన ఇందిరా గాంధీ సేవలను స్మరించుకుంటూ ఆమె సమాధి వద్ద ముఖ్యమంత్రి పూలు సమర్పించారు. 1984 అక్టోబర్ 31న ఆమె హత్యకు గురయ్యారు. ప్రతి సంవత్సరం అక్టోబర్ 31న ఆమె వర్ధంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని రాజకీయ నాయకులు నివాళులర్పిస్తారు.

శక్తి స్థల్ వద్ద జరిగిన నివాళుల కార్యక్రమంలో కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షుడు మల్లికార్జున ఖర్గే, కాంగ్రెస్ పార్లమెంటరీ పార్టీ అధ్యక్షురాలు సోనియా గాంధీ, ఎంపీ ప్రియాంక గాంధీ వాద్రా సహా పలువురు కాంగ్రెస్ నాయకులు కూడా పాల్గొన్నారు.

ఇందిరా గాంధీ భారత రాజకీయాల్లో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. ఆమె హయాంలో బ్యాంకుల జాతీయీకరణ, పేదల సంక్షేమానికి సంబంధించిన కార్యక్రమాలు సహా పలు ముఖ్యమైన నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకున్నారు.

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Shakti Sthal in New Delhi on the occasion of her death anniversary.

The Chief Minister remembered Indira Gandhi for her contribution to India’s unity, national integrity and public welfare. Her death anniversary is observed on October 31, marking the day she was assassinated in 1984.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several other Congress leaders also paid homage to the former Prime Minister at Shakti Sthal.

During her tenure, Indira Gandhi introduced several major policy initiatives, including the nationalisation of banks, the abolition of privy purses and the 20-Point Programme. These measures played a significant role in India’s political and economic history.

Revanth Reddy’s tribute was part of the annual observance honouring the former Prime Minister’s legacy.
