వికసిత భారత్ లక్ష్య సాధనలో భాగంగా ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న భారత సంతతి శాస్త్రవేత్తలు, పరిశోధకులు, నిపుణులను దేశ అభివృద్ధిలో భాగస్వామ్యం చేయడానికి కేంద్ర విద్యాశాఖ “ప్రధానమంత్రి రీసెర్చ్ చైర్ (PMRC) పథకం”ను ప్రారంభించింది.

The Ministry of Education has invited applications for the Prime Minister Research Chair (PMRC) Scheme, a major national initiative aimed at connecting global Indian talent with India’s scientific, research, and innovation ecosystem.
The scheme seeks to attract accomplished Indian-origin researchers, scientists, academicians, and professionals from around the world to contribute to research, innovation, and academic excellence at leading Government Higher Education Institutions across India.
According to the Ministry, the PMRC Scheme is designed to strengthen India’s research and development capabilities by leveraging the expertise of globally recognized Indian-origin professionals. The initiative aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, advanced research collaborations, and innovation-driven growth.
The programme aligns with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Aatmanirbhar Bharat by fostering world-class research, scientific advancement, and technological innovation. It also seeks to bridge India’s rich scientific heritage with future-focused innovation ecosystems.
Officials said the initiative would help create stronger global academic networks while enabling Indian institutions to benefit from international expertise and best practices in research and higher education.
The Ministry of Education has encouraged eligible Indian-origin researchers and professionals worldwide to apply and participate in India’s next phase of research-led growth and nation-building.
