ప్రయాణం కొనసాగుతున్న సమయంలో బస్సు ఇంజిన్ సమీప ప్రాంతం నుంచి పొగలు రావడాన్ని డ్రైవర్, క్లీనర్ గమనించారు. వెంటనే అప్రమత్తమైన వారు బస్సును రోడ్డుపక్కన నిలిపి ప్రయాణికులందరినీ సురక్షితంగా కిందికి దింపారు.
కొద్ది సేపటికే మంటలు బస్సు మొత్తం వ్యాపించాయి. సమాచారం అందుకున్న అగ్నిమాపక సిబ్బంది ఘటనాస్థలికి చేరుకుని మంటలను అదుపులోకి తీసుకొచ్చారు. అయితే అప్పటికే బస్సు భారీగా దెబ్బతిన్నట్లు అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు.
ప్రాథమిక విచారణలో ఇంజిన్ సమీపంలో ఏర్పడిన విద్యుత్ షార్ట్ సర్క్యూట్ కారణంగానే అగ్నిప్రమాదం సంభవించి ఉండవచ్చని అధికారులు అనుమానం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.

A major accident was averted in Telangana after a private travel bus caught fire near Chityal in Nalgonda district on Saturday. The bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Kakinada with 36 passengers on board.
According to officials, the driver and cleaner noticed smoke emerging from the engine section while the vehicle was in motion. They immediately stopped the bus on the roadside and safely evacuated all passengers.
Within minutes, the flames spread rapidly and engulfed a large portion of the vehicle. Fire department personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Officials suspect that an electrical short circuit near the engine may have triggered the blaze. A detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
