BRS working president KTR has criticised the Congress government over the Musi beautification project, raising questions about the public hearing process, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and the project’s reported cost.

KTR said the BRS had been opposing what it describes as the misuse of public money in the name of Musi beautification, alleging that the project involves an expenditure of ₹1.5 lakh crore. He also accused the government of preventing party leaders from attending the project’s public hearing and arresting them.

According to KTR’s statement, former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLA Sudheer Reddy, MLC Sravan Dasoju and Rajendranagar constituency in-charge Karthik Indra Anna were among the leaders who were stopped and arrested.

Questioning the government’s priorities, KTR said that while drought conditions were being discussed in the state, the government was simultaneously pursuing the Musi beautification project.

The BRS has sought clarity on the project’s DPR, public consultation process and expenditure. The allegations concerning the project cost and the arrests require further confirmation through official statements.
