కన్నెపల్లి పంప్‌హౌస్ నుంచి నీటిని ఎత్తిపోసి అన్నారం, సుందిళ్ల బ్యారేజీల ద్వారా ఎల్లంపల్లి వరకు తరలించే అవకాశం ఉన్నప్పటికీ ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు తీసుకోవడం లేదని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు. లక్ష క్యూసెక్కుల వరద ప్రవాహం ఉన్నప్పటికీ పంపులను ఆన్ చేయకపోవడం వల్ల తెలంగాణకు ఉపయోగపడాల్సిన గోదావరి జలాలు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌కు వెళ్లిపోతున్నాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.

రిటైర్డ్ ఇంజినీర్ల సూచనలను ప్రభుత్వం పట్టించుకోవడం లేదని కేసీఆర్ అన్నారు. రోజుకు 3 టీఎంసీల నీటిని ఎత్తిపోసే సామర్థ్యం ఉన్న పంపులు సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నా వాటిని వినియోగించడం లేదని విమర్శించారు.

ఎల్లంపల్లి ప్రాజెక్టులో నీటి నిల్వలు ఆందోళనకర స్థాయిలో ఉన్నాయని, సాగునీరు, తాగునీరు, విద్యుత్ ఉత్పత్తి అవసరాలను ప్రభుత్వం ఎలా తీర్చబోతుందో స్పష్టం చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. హైదరాబాద్ తాగునీటి అవసరాలపై కూడా ప్రభుత్వం స్పష్టత ఇవ్వాలని కోరారు.

Hyderabad: Former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) launched a sharp attack on the Telangana government, alleging that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had failed to fulfil key promises related to farmers and water resource management.

KCR questioned the status of the promised complete farm loan waiver and alleged that many farmers, including those in Khammam district, had not received full benefits despite the government’s claims.

He further alleged that the government was not lifting Godavari water from the Kannepalli Pump House to the Annaram, Sundilla and Yellampalli reservoirs, despite adequate flood flows. According to KCR, this was resulting in Telangana losing valuable water while Andhra Pradesh continued to utilise Godavari water through its lift irrigation projects.

The BRS chief also claimed that the government had ignored suggestions made by retired irrigation engineers and failed to operate pumps capable of lifting up to 3 TMC of water per day.

Expressing concern over the low storage levels in the Yellampalli project, KCR questioned how the government planned to meet irrigation, drinking water and industrial requirements in the coming months. He demanded a detailed clarification from the state government on water management and reservoir operations.
