ఈ సమావేశంలో ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఫర్ ఇన్క్లూసివ్ డెమోక్రసీ అండ్ ఎలక్టోరల్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ (IICDEM)–2026లో రూపొందించిన కార్యాచరణను అమలు చేసేందుకు పరస్పర సహకారాన్ని మరింత బలోపేతం చేయాలని ఇరుపక్షాలు నిర్ణయించాయి.
అలాగే ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ వ్యవస్థను మరింత సమర్థవంతంగా తీర్చిదిద్దడం, ఎన్నికల సిబ్బందికి శిక్షణ కార్యక్రమాలను విస్తరించడం, ఉత్తమ విధానాలను పరస్పరం పంచుకోవడం వంటి అంశాల్లో కలిసి పనిచేయాలని అంగీకరించారు.
ఈ సమావేశం భారత్–దక్షిణాఫ్రికా మధ్య ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థల బలోపేతం, ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణలో అంతర్జాతీయ సహకారాన్ని విస్తరించే దిశగా కీలక అడుగుగా భావిస్తున్నారు.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Gyanesh Kumar, met South African High Commissioner to India Prof. Anil Sooklal at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi.
During the meeting, both sides resolved to work closely to advance the agenda outlined during IICDEM 2026. They agreed to deepen cooperation in strengthening election management systems and enhancing the training of election personnel.
The discussions also focused on sharing best practices, improving institutional capacity and promoting collaboration in democratic electoral processes.
The meeting is expected to further strengthen India–South Africa cooperation in the field of election management and democratic governance.
