Heavy rains expected in Telangana for next 4–5 days – IMD scientist forecast
తెలంగాణలో రాబోయే నాలుగైదు రోజుల పాటు వర్షాలు కుమ్ముడే కుమ్ముడుగా పడే అవకాశం ఉందని భారత వాతావరణ శాఖ (IMD) సీనియర్ సైంటిస్ట్ శ్రీనివాస్ తెలిపారు. ఇవాళ సాయంత్రం, రాత్రి హైదరాబాద్లోని కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో భారీ వర్షాలు పడే అవకాశం ఉందని ఆయన చెప్పారు.
Telangana is likely to witness widespread heavy rains over the next four to five days, according to IMD senior scientist Srinivas. He said that some parts of Hyderabad may receive heavy downpour this evening and night.
ఈశాన్య బంగాళాఖాతంలో ఏర్పడిన అల్పపీడనం ఇవాళ ఉదయం ఒడిశా–వెస్ట్ బెంగాల్ తీరాన్ని దాటి లోనికి చేరిందని ఆయన వివరించారు. దాని ప్రభావంతో ఒక ద్రోణి తెలంగాణ మీదుగా, మరో ద్రోణి తెలంగాణ–మహారాష్ట్ర మీదుగా కొనసాగుతోందని చెప్పారు. ఈ రెండు వాతావరణ ప్రభావాల కారణంగా రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా వర్షాలు కురుస్తాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.
The low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal crossed the Odisha–West Bengal coast this morning. One trough now extends over Telangana and another across Telangana–Maharashtra, both of which are triggering rains across the state, he explained.
అలాగే, గత కొన్ని రోజులుగా పగటిపూట ఉష్ణోగ్రతలు సాధారణం కంటే 3–4 డిగ్రీలు అధికంగా ఉన్నాయని, ఇది “అర్బన్ హీట్ ఐలాండ్ ఎఫెక్ట్” కారణంగా జరుగుతోందని చెప్పారు. నగరాల్లో పెరిగిన నిర్మాణాలు, భారీ వాహనాల కదలికలు ఈ ఉష్ణోగ్రతల పెరుగుదలకు కారణమని తెలిపారు.
He also noted that day temperatures have been 3–4 degrees higher than normal due to the “Urban Heat Island Effect,” caused by dense constructions and heavy vehicular movement in cities.
ఉపరితల చక్రవాత ఆవర్తనాల వల్ల వాతావరణం ముసురుగా మారి వరుసగా నాలుగైదు రోజులు వర్షాలు పడతాయని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ నెల 25నాటికి పశ్చిమ మధ్య బంగాళాఖాతంలో మరో అల్పపీడనం ఏర్పడే అవకాశం ఉందని, అది బలపడితే వాయుగుండంగా మారి 27న కోస్టల్ ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ తీరాన్ని తాకే అవకాశం ఉందని తెలిపారు. ఈ క్రమంలో 25, 26, 27 తేదీల్లో రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా వర్షాలు కురుస్తాయని అంచనా వేశారు.
He further added that due to upper air cyclonic circulations, cloudy conditions and continuous rains for 4–5 days are expected. Another low-pressure system is likely to form over the west-central Bay of Bengal around September 25, which could intensify into a depression or cyclone and may cross the north coastal Andhra Pradesh coast by September 27. Consequently, Telangana is expected to receive rainfall on 25, 26 and 27 September as well.
