ప్రభుత్వం నిరుపేదలకు అందిస్తున్న రేషన్ బియ్యం పెద్దఎత్తున అక్రమ దారుల్లోకి వెళ్తోంది. బద్వేలు కేంద్రంగా ప్రతి నెల వందల క్వింటాళ్ల చౌక బియ్యం తమిళనాడు, కర్ణాటక రాష్ట్రాలకు తరలిపోతోంది. అధికారుల అండ, రాజకీయ నేతల సహకారం లేకుండా ఈ స్థాయి స్మగ్లింగ్ జరగడం అసాధ్యం.
Cheap rice supplied under the public distribution system is being illegally diverted in large quantities from Badvel, Kadapa district. Every month, hundreds of quintals are smuggled to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Sources allege the nexus involves local officials, smugglers, and even political leaders, making the racket an open secret.
విశ్వసనీయ సమాచారం ప్రకారం, స్మగ్లర్లు ప్రతి ఇంటికి వెళ్లి కిలోకు రూ.20 చొప్పున రేషన్ బియ్యం సేకరిస్తారు. తరువాత నేరుగా ప్రైవేట్ గోదాములు లేదా రైస్ మిల్లులకు తరలిస్తారు. అక్కడ పాలిష్ చేసి బహిరంగ మార్కెట్లో విక్రయిస్తారు. ఒక్కో స్మగ్లర్కు నెలకు కోటి రూపాయల వరకు లాభం వస్తుందని సమాచారం.
According to local reports, smugglers collect rice from ration card holders at around ₹20 per kg and transport it directly to private godowns or mills. After polishing, the rice is sold in open markets. Insiders claim each smuggler earns up to ₹1 crore per month from this illegal trade.
పండుగల సందర్భాల్లో స్మగ్లర్లు రాజకీయ నేతలకు సన్మానాలు సత్కారాలు నిర్వహిస్తూ తమకు రక్షణ కల్పించుకుంటారు. ఎన్నికల సమయంలో పెద్ద ఎత్తున రేషన్ బియ్యం, ఇతర వస్తువులు నల్ల బజారుకు తరలించిన ఘటనలు ఉన్నాయి. ఫిర్యాదులు వచ్చినప్పటికీ అధికారులు నామమాత్రపు చర్యలకే పరిమితమయ్యారు.
Smugglers reportedly host public felicitation events for local leaders during festivals, ensuring political protection. During elections, large quantities of ration rice and essential commodities were siphoned off to the black market. Though complaints were filed, officials allegedly took only nominal action.
ప్రతి నెల 300–350 క్వింటాళ్ల రేషన్ బియ్యం అక్రమంగా బయటకు వెళ్తోందని అంచనా. కొందరు స్మగ్లర్లు బహిరంగంగానే ఆస్తులు కూడబెట్టుకుంటున్నా చర్యలు లేవు. అధికారులు, నేతలు, స్మగ్లర్ల మధ్య కుమ్మక్కుతో ఈ అక్రమ దందా ఆగడం లేదన్నది వాస్తవం.
An estimated 300–350 quintals of ration rice are smuggled every month from Badvel alone. Some smugglers, once seen roaming on bicycles, are now constructing multi-crore houses openly. Yet, no strict action has been taken, pointing to a deep nexus between smugglers, officials, and politicians.
