స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల్లో బీసీలకు రిజర్వేషన్ల పెంపు అధికారం రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానిదే అని బీజేపీ ఎంపీ ఆర్. కృష్ణయ్య స్పష్టం చేశారు. రాష్ట్ర సర్కారు రాజ్యాంగం కల్పించిన అధికారం ఆధారంగా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని సూచించారు.

ఈ విషయంలో కేంద్రంపై నెపం నెట్టే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోందని కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీని ఆయన విమర్శించారు. ఎన్నికల ముందు ఇచ్చిన హామీ మేరకు బీసీలకు 42 శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లు అమలు చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. బీసీల సామాజిక న్యాయాన్ని గుర్తించి ప్రభుత్వం తగిన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని పేర్కొన్నారు.

BJP MP R. Krishnaiah has asserted that the power to enhance BC reservations in local body elections lies solely with the state government. He emphasized that the Telangana government must act within the constitutional framework to implement this.

He criticized the Congress for allegedly shifting the blame to the Centre, stating it was a diversion from the promise made during the elections. Krishnaiah demanded that the government implement 42% reservations for BCs in accordance with the pre-election assurance, stressing the importance of ensuring social justice for Backward Classes.
