A total of 112 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) officer trainees completed their training at the Telangana Police Academy (TGPA), with Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand presiding over the Passing Out Parade.

The batch holds special significance as it comprises the first group of DSPs recruited by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) after the formation of Telangana to complete their training and pass out.

The trainees underwent 44 weeks of rigorous training and will proceed to district-level field training as they begin their policing careers.

Addressing the trainees, Anand said only 0.3 per cent of Telangana’s population had the privilege of wearing the police uniform. He urged the officers to uphold its values through leadership, integrity and dedicated public service.

The DGP asked the new officers to prepare for emerging challenges, including cybercrime, narcotics, traffic congestion, food adulteration and organised criminal gangs. He also highlighted specialised policing initiatives being implemented in Telangana to address these threats.

Emphasising the importance of physical fitness, Anand encouraged the officers to maintain their health throughout their careers. He said they should remain fit enough to wear their belts in the same hole at retirement as they do today.

The DGP presented trophies to outstanding trainees and wished all 112 officers success in their future assignments.
