హైదరాబాద్: ఆన్‌లైన్‌ పరిచయాల పేరుతో జరుగుతున్న హనీ ట్రాప్‌ మోసాల పట్ల అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలని పోలీసులు ప్రజలను హెచ్చరించారు. సైబర్‌ నేరగాళ్లు ఆన్‌లైన్‌లో నకిలీ స్నేహాలను ఏర్పరచుకుని, భావోద్వేగ నమ్మకాన్ని సంపాదించిన తర్వాత వ్యక్తిగత సంభాషణలు, ఫొటోలు లేదా వీడియోలను రికార్డు చేసే అవకాశం ఉందని సూచించారు.

ఆ తర్వాత వాటిని అడ్డుపెట్టుకుని బెదిరింపులు, బ్లాక్‌మెయిల్‌ లేదా అత్యవసర పరిస్థితుల పేరుతో డబ్బులు డిమాండ్‌ చేసే అవకాశం ఉందని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు.

ఆన్‌లైన్‌లో పరిచయమైన అపరిచితులను పూర్తిగా నమ్మవద్దని, వ్యక్తిగత ఫొటోలు లేదా వీడియోలను ఎవరితోనూ పంచుకోవద్దని సూచించారు. బెదిరింపులకు భయపడి డబ్బులు పంపవద్దని స్పష్టం చేశారు.

ఎవరైనా ఇలాంటి మోసానికి గురైతే వెంటనే స్పందించి సంబంధిత వ్యక్తులను బ్లాక్‌ చేసి, ఫిర్యాదు చేయాలని సూచించారు. సైబర్‌ మోసంలో డబ్బు కోల్పోయిన వారు వెంటనే 1930కు కాల్‌ చేయాలని, cybercrime.gov.in ద్వారా ఫిర్యాదు చేయాలని పోలీసులు సూచించారు.

ప్రజలు అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండి తమ వ్యక్తిగత సమాచారం, ఫొటోలు, వీడియోలు మరియు ఆర్థిక వివరాలను రక్షించుకోవాలని పోలీసులు సూచించారు.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police have warned the public to remain alert against honey trap fraud carried out through fake online friendships. Cybercriminals may establish emotional trust online, record private conversations, photographs or videos and later use them to threaten or blackmail victims.

Fraudsters may also demand money by creating fake emergencies or threatening to expose private material, according to the awareness message.

People have been advised not to blindly trust strangers online and never to share private photographs or videos with unknown persons. Police have also cautioned people against sending money in response to threats or blackmail.

Anyone who becomes a victim of such fraud should act immediately, block and report the perpetrators and seek assistance. People who have lost money in cyber fraud should call 1930 immediately and file a complaint through cybercrime.gov.in.

Police urged citizens to remain vigilant and protect their personal information, private content and hard-earned money from online fraudsters.
