తెలంగాణలో ఎల్నినో ప్రభావంతో నెలకొన్న వర్షాభావ పరిస్థితులను ఎదుర్కొనేందుకు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం అవసరమైన సహకారం అందించాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి కేంద్ర వ్యవసాయ, గ్రామీణాభివృద్ధి శాఖ మంత్రి శివరాజ్ సింగ్ చౌహాన్ను కోరారు. హైదరాబాద్ మాదాపూర్లో జరిగిన భేటీలో రాష్ట్రంలోని వ్యవసాయ పరిస్థితులు, తాగునీరు, విద్యుత్ సరఫరా తదితర అంశాలను ముఖ్యమంత్రి వివరించారు.
వర్షాభావం కారణంగా వ్యవసాయ రంగంలో విద్యుత్ వినియోగం పెరిగిందని రేవంత్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు. తాగునీరు, విద్యుత్ కొరత తలెత్తకుండా రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం ముందస్తు ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేసిందని చెప్పారు.
ఎల్నినో పరిస్థితుల నేపథ్యంలో రైతులను ప్రత్యామ్నాయ పంటలు, పంటల మార్పిడి వైపు ప్రోత్సహిస్తున్నట్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రి తెలిపారు. ఇందుకు కేంద్రం నుంచి అవసరమైన సహకారం అందించాలని కోరారు.
ప్రత్యామ్నాయ పంటలకు మార్కెట్ అవకాశాలను పెంచే చర్యల్లో భాగంగా 250 ఎకరాల్లో అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రమాణాలతో పండ్లు, కూరగాయల మార్కెట్ను ఏర్పాటు చేస్తున్నట్లు కేంద్ర మంత్రికి వివరించారు.
ప్రధానమంత్రి ఆవాస్ యోజన గ్రామీణ్ పథకం కింద తెలంగాణకు తొలి విడతగా 2 లక్షల ఇళ్లు కేటాయించినందుకు రేవంత్ రెడ్డి కేంద్ర మంత్రికి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు. గత జూలైలో 11,56,915 మంది అర్హులైన గ్రామీణ కుటుంబాలకు ఇళ్లు మంజూరు చేయాలని కేంద్రాన్ని కోరిన విషయాన్ని గుర్తుచేశారు.
తాజాగా 2 లక్షల ఇళ్లు కేటాయించిన నేపథ్యంలో మిగిలిన 9.56 లక్షల ఇళ్లను కూడా రాష్ట్ర అవసరాలకు అనుగుణంగా మంజూరు చేయాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి కోరారు.
తెలంగాణలో పేదలకు రేషన్ దుకాణాల ద్వారా సన్నబియ్యం అందిస్తున్నామని, సన్నవడ్ల సాగును ప్రోత్సహించేందుకు క్వింటాల్కు రూ.500 బోనస్ అందిస్తున్నామని కూడా కేంద్ర మంత్రికి వివరించారు.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has sought the Centre’s support to address rainfall deficit conditions in the State attributed to the impact of El Niño. He raised the issue during a meeting with Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhapur, Hyderabad, and briefed him on the challenges facing Telangana’s agriculture sector.
Revanth Reddy said deficient rainfall had increased electricity consumption in the agricultural sector. He also explained that the Telangana government had prepared advance plans to avoid shortages of drinking water and electricity.
The Chief Minister said farmers were being encouraged to adopt alternative crops and crop diversification in view of the prevailing weather conditions. He sought the Centre’s cooperation in supporting farmers and strengthening crop diversification measures.
Revanth Reddy also informed the Union Minister that Telangana was establishing an international-standard fruits and vegetables market over 250 acres as part of efforts to support agricultural activity and provide better market opportunities.
The Chief Minister thanked Chouhan for the Centre’s first-phase allocation of two lakh houses to Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
He recalled that the State had earlier sought houses for 11,56,915 eligible rural families. With two lakh houses allocated in the first phase, Revanth Reddy requested the Centre to sanction the remaining 9.56 lakh houses according to Telangana’s requirement.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the State’s initiatives to provide fine rice through ration shops and encourage farmers to cultivate fine-variety paddy by providing a bonus of ₹500 per quintal.
