హైదరాబాద్లోని మంచిరేవులలో ఉన్న యంగ్ ఇండియా పోలీస్ స్కూల్ శాశ్వత ప్రాంగణంలో అకాడమిక్ బ్లాక్-1 నిర్మాణానికి శంకుస్థాపన జరిగింది. పోలీసు, యూనిఫాం బలగాల సిబ్బంది పిల్లలకు నాణ్యమైన విద్య అందించాలనే లక్ష్యంతో తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం చేపట్టిన వైప్స్ అభివృద్ధిలో ఇది మరో కీలక ముందడుగు.
తెలంగాణ డీజీపీ సీవీ ఆనంద్ అకాడమిక్ బ్లాక్-1కు శంకుస్థాపన చేశారు. అకాడమిక్ బ్లాక్లో విశాలమైన తరగతి గదులు, గ్రంథాలయం, కంప్యూటర్, సైన్స్ ప్రయోగశాలలు, పరిపాలనా విభాగాలు, క్రీడా సౌకర్యాలు ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నారు. ఈ భవనం సుమారు 45 వేల చదరపు అడుగుల విస్తీర్ణంలో నిర్మించనున్నట్లు తెలిపారు.
ప్రస్తుతం వైప్స్లో సుమారు 360 మంది విద్యార్థులు చదువుతున్నారని డీజీపీ తెలిపారు. కొత్త అకాడమిక్ బ్లాక్ వచ్చే మే నాటికి పూర్తిచేసి, తదుపరి విద్యా సంవత్సరం నుంచి విద్యార్థుల సంఖ్యను దాదాపు 750కి పెంచే లక్ష్యంతో ముందుకు సాగుతున్నట్లు చెప్పారు. పాఠశాలలో పీపీ-1 నుంచి ప్లస్-2 వరకు విద్య అందించనున్నారు.
ప్రస్తుత ప్రాంగణంలో జూనియర్ తరగతులు కొనసాగుతుండగా, కొత్త భవనంలో సీనియర్ తరగతులను నిర్వహించనున్నారు. మొత్తం 44 ఎకరాల శాశ్వత ప్రాంగణంలోని ఇతర నిర్మాణాలు పూర్తయ్యే కొద్దీ పాఠశాల సామర్థ్యం మరింత పెరగనుంది.
వైప్స్ను 2024 డిసెంబర్లో తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం పోలీసు, యూనిఫాం బలగాల పిల్లలకు నాణ్యమైన విద్య అందించేందుకు రూపొందించింది. 2025 ఏప్రిల్లో తాత్కాలిక ప్రాంగణంలో పాఠశాల ప్రారంభమైంది. సైనిక్, ఆర్మీ పాఠశాలల తరహాలో విద్య, క్రమశిక్షణ, క్రీడలు, సహపాఠ్య కార్యకలాపాలకు ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వాలని పాఠశాలను రూపొందిస్తున్నారు.
వైప్స్ స్వయం సమృద్ధిగా కొనసాగేందుకు ప్రైవేట్ ప్రవేశాల కోసం 50 శాతం సీట్లు కేటాయించనున్నట్లు డీజీపీ తెలిపారు. పోలీసు సిబ్బంది, హోంగార్డుల పిల్లలతో పాటు ఇతర వర్గాల విద్యార్థులకు కూడా అవకాశం కల్పించే విధంగా పాఠశాలను అభివృద్ధి చేస్తున్నారు.
గత పది నెలలుగా నిలిచిపోయిన పనులకు ఇటీవల వేగం తీసుకువచ్చామని, ప్రభుత్వం సహకారంతో సొసైటీ, కమిటీలను పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరించి ప్రణాళికలను ఖరారు చేసి సంబంధిత పనులను వేగవంతం చేశామని సీవీ ఆనంద్ తెలిపారు.
వైప్స్ను భవిష్యత్తులో అత్యుత్తమ విద్యా సంస్థల్లో ఒకటిగా తీర్చిదిద్దేందుకు పాఠశాల సిబ్బంది, విద్యార్థుల తల్లిదండ్రులు, స్పాన్సర్లు, శ్రేయోభిలాషుల సహకారంతో ముందుకు సాగుతామని ఆయన విశ్వాసం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

The foundation stone for Academic Block-I of the permanent campus of the Young India Police School (YIPS) was laid at Manchirevula in Hyderabad, marking another major step in the development of the institution established for children of police and uniformed forces personnel.
Telangana Director General of Police C. V. Anand laid the foundation stone for the new academic block at the YIPS campus. The proposed block will include spacious classrooms, a library, computer and science laboratories, administrative spaces and sports facilities. The new academic infrastructure is planned across around 45,000 square feet.
YIPS currently has around 360 students. According to the plans outlined by the DGP, the new academic block is targeted for completion by next May, allowing the school to expand to nearly 750 students from the following academic year. The institution will provide education from PP1 to Plus-2.
Junior classes will continue at the existing campus, while senior classes will shift to the new academic block. As additional components of the 44-acre permanent campus are completed, the school’s capacity is expected to increase further.
The Telangana Government envisioned YIPS in December 2024 to provide quality education to children of police personnel and other uniformed forces. The school began functioning from a temporary campus in April 2025. It is being developed along the lines of Army and Sainik schools, with emphasis on academics, discipline, sports and co-curricular activities.
DGP C. V. Anand said 50 per cent of the seats would be reserved for private admissions to help make the institution financially self-sustaining. Children of police personnel and Home Guards will also be eligible, while the school is intended to provide quality education to students from other sections as well.
Anand said the project had regained momentum after a prolonged pause, with the government supporting the restructuring of the society and its committees, finalisation of plans and acceleration of associated works.
He expressed confidence that continued support from Team YIPS, school staff, parents of the founding batch, sponsors and well-wishers would help the institution develop into a centre of educational excellence and nurture well-rounded students.
