తాష్కెంట్లో ఉజ్బెకిస్థాన్ అధ్యక్షుడు షవ్కత్ మిర్జియోయెవ్తో జరిగిన చర్చల్లో భారత్–ఉజ్బెకిస్థాన్ సంబంధాలను సమగ్ర వ్యూహాత్మక భాగస్వామ్యం స్థాయికి పెంచాలని నిర్ణయించారు. ఇరు దేశాల మధ్య ద్వైపాక్షిక సహకారాన్ని మరింత విస్తృతం చేయడమే లక్ష్యంగా ఈ కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు.

మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు, డిజిటల్ పబ్లిక్ ఇన్ఫ్రాస్ట్రక్చర్ (డీపీఐ), కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు (ఏఐ), కీలక ఖనిజాలు, ఇంధనం, అంతరిక్ష రంగాల్లో సహకారాన్ని పెంచేందుకు ఇరు దేశాలు అంగీకరించాయి.
అదేవిధంగా మార్కెట్ ప్రాప్యతను మెరుగుపరచడం, రవాణా అనుసంధానాన్ని బలోపేతం చేయడం, బ్యాంకింగ్ వ్యవస్థల మధ్య సహకారాన్ని పెంచడం, చెల్లింపుల సదుపాయాలను విస్తరించడం వంటి అంశాలపైనా చర్చలు జరిగాయి.
ఈ నిర్ణయాలు భారత్–ఉజ్బెకిస్థాన్ సంబంధాలను వాణిజ్యం నుంచి సాంకేతికత, ఇంధనం, మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు, అంతరిక్షం వంటి కీలక రంగాలకు విస్తరించే దిశగా కీలక అడుగుగా నిలవనున్నాయి.

India and Uzbekistan have decided to elevate their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership following talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent.
The two sides also set an ambitious target of increasing bilateral trade to more than $5 billion by 2030. The discussions focused on strengthening trade and investment ties while improving opportunities for businesses in both countries.
India and Uzbekistan agreed to expand cooperation across several strategic sectors, including infrastructure, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), artificial intelligence, critical minerals, energy and space.
The talks also placed emphasis on improving market access and strengthening connectivity between the two countries. Cooperation in banking and payment systems is also set to receive greater attention as both sides work towards facilitating economic engagement.
The decisions mark a significant expansion of India-Uzbekistan cooperation, with the partnership set to cover a broader range of economic, technological and strategic areas.
