CEC Gyanesh Kumar Meets BLOs
తమిళనాడు బూత్ లెవల్ అధికారులతో (BLOs) ప్రధాన ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్ జ్ఞానేశ్ కుమార్ చెన్నైలో సమావేశమై, క్షేత్రస్థాయిలో వారు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న అనుభవాలు, సమస్యలు, సూచనలను తెలుసుకున్నారు. ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియను బలోపేతం చేయడంలో బీఎల్ఓల కీలక పాత్రను ఈ సందర్భంగా ప్రస్తావించారు.
చెన్నైలోని కலைవాణర్ అరంగంలో నిర్వహించిన ఎన్నికల సాక్షరత మంథళ్లు (ELC 2.0), ECINETపై ప్రాంతీయ సదస్సులో భాగంగా సీఈసీ జ్ఞానేశ్ కుమార్ తమిళనాడుకు చెందిన బూత్ లెవల్ అధికారులతో నేరుగా ముచ్చటించారు.
ఈ సమావేశంలో బీఎల్ఓలు క్షేత్రస్థాయిలో ఓటర్ల నమోదు, ఓటర్ల జాబితా పరిశీలన, ఇంటింటి ధ్రువీకరణ తదితర ఎన్నికల విధుల్లో ఎదుర్కొంటున్న అనుభవాలను, క్షేత్రస్థాయి పరిస్థితులను వివరించారు. ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియను మరింత సమర్థవంతంగా నిర్వహించేందుకు అవసరమైన సూచనలు, అభిప్రాయాలను సీఈసీ తెలుసుకున్నారు.
దేశ ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థలో బూత్ స్థాయి సిబ్బంది కీలక భాగమని జ్ఞానేశ్ కుమార్ పేర్కొన్నారు. ఓటర్లకు చేరువగా పనిచేస్తూ ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియపై అవగాహన పెంచడంలో, ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణను పటిష్టం చేయడంలో బీఎల్ఓల పాత్ర ముఖ్యమని వివరించారు.
ఎన్నికల సాక్షరతను పెంపొందించడం, ఓటర్ల అవగాహనను విస్తరించడం, డిజిటల్ సేవలను మరింత సమర్థవంతంగా వినియోగించడంపై సదస్సులో చర్చలు జరిగాయి. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో సుమారు 500 మంది బూత్ లెవల్ అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నట్లు నివేదికలు వెల్లడించాయి.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from Tamil Nadu at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai, providing them an opportunity to share their grassroots experiences, field-level challenges and insights. The interaction highlighted the important role played by BLOs in strengthening the electoral process.
The interaction was held as part of the regional conference on Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC 2.0) and ECINET in Chennai. BLOs shared their experiences relating to voter enrolment, electoral roll verification, door-to-door verification and other field-level election duties.
CEC Gyanesh Kumar sought direct feedback from the officials on ground-level electoral work and emphasised the importance of booth-level personnel in strengthening India’s democratic and electoral processes.
The conference also focused on strengthening voter awareness, electoral literacy and the use of digital platforms such as ECINET. Around 500 BLOs participated in the interaction, according to reports.
