:Maha Varuna Yagam at Nagarjuna Sagar for Abundant Rainfall
తెలంగాణలో విస్తారంగా వర్షాలు కురవాలని ఆకాంక్షిస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం నాగార్జునసాగర్లో నిర్వహించిన మహా వరుణయాగం వేదపండితుల మంత్రోచ్ఛారణలు, వైదిక క్రతువుల మధ్య సంపూర్ణమైంది. కృష్ణా నది ఒడ్డున జరిగిన యాగంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి దంపతులు పాల్గొని పూర్ణాహుతి సమర్పించారు.
నాగార్జునసాగర్లోని విజయ్ విహారం వద్ద కృష్ణా నది ఒడ్డున మహా వరుణయాగాన్ని నిర్వహించారు. యాదగిరిగుట్ట శ్రీ లక్ష్మీనరసింహ స్వామి ఆలయ అర్చకులు, వేదపండితుల ఆధ్వర్యంలో 108 మంది రుత్వికులు, 11 హోమగుండాలతో వైదిక పద్ధతిలో హోమక్రతువులు నిర్వహించారు.
ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి దంపతులు రుత్వికుల మార్గదర్శకత్వంలో యాగక్రతువులు నిర్వహించి పూర్ణాహుతి సమర్పించారు. మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి దంపతులు కూడా యాగంలో పాల్గొన్నారు. కృష్ణా, గోదావరి పరీవాహక ప్రాంతాల్లో సమృద్ధిగా వర్షాలు కురవాలని, రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలు సుఖసంతోషాలతో, సుభిక్షంగా జీవించాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి ప్రార్థించారు.
వర్షాలు, వ్యవసాయం, ప్రకృతి, మానవ జీవితం పరస్పరం అనుసంధానమై ఉన్నాయనే భావనతో భారతీయ సంప్రదాయంలో వర్షాల కోసం యాగాలు, యజ్ఞాలు, పూజలు నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీగా వస్తోందని ప్రభుత్వం పేర్కొంది. ఒకవైపు శాస్త్రీయ అంచనాలు, ప్రణాళికల ఆధారంగా ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు చేపడుతూనే, ఆధ్యాత్మిక సంప్రదాయాలను గౌరవిస్తూ ప్రకృతి అనుగ్రహం కోసం వరుణయాగం నిర్వహించినట్లు తెలిపింది.
వాతావరణ శాఖ అంచనాల ప్రకారం ఎల్నినో ప్రభావంతో ఈసారి రాష్ట్రంలో సాధారణం కంటే తక్కువ వర్షపాతం నమోదయ్యే అవకాశం ఉందన్న నేపథ్యంలో ఈ మహా వరుణయాగాన్ని నిర్వహించినట్లు పేర్కొన్నారు.
కృష్ణా, గోదావరి నదులు నిండుగా ప్రవహించాలని, శ్రీశైలం, నాగార్జునసాగర్ సహా అన్ని ప్రాజెక్టులు నిండాలని, రాష్ట్రంలోని చెరువులు, కుంటలు జలకళను సంతరించుకోవాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఆకాంక్షించారు. భూగర్భ జలాలు పెరిగి పంటలు సమృద్ధిగా పండాలని, రైతులు సంతోషంగా ఉండాలని ఆయన ప్రార్థించారు.
వరుణయాగంలో శాసనమండలి చైర్మన్ గుత్తా సుఖేందర్ రెడ్డి, మంత్రులు కోమటిరెడ్డి వెంకట్ రెడ్డి, కొండా సురేఖతో పాటు ప్రభుత్వ సలహాదారులు కె. కేశవరావు, పి. సుదర్శన్ రెడ్డి, మాజీ మంత్రి కె. జానారెడ్డి, ఇతర ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
The Maha Varuna Yagam conducted by the Telangana government at Nagarjuna Sagar concluded with Vedic rituals and prayers for abundant rainfall across the state. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his wife participated in the rituals and offered the Purnahuti on the banks of the Krishna River.
The yagam was held at Vijay Vihar near Nagarjuna Sagar under the guidance of priests and Vedic scholars from the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta. A total of 108 ritwiks performed the rituals at 11 homa kundas, seeking the blessings of Varuna Deva.
The Chief Minister and his wife performed the rituals under the guidance of the ritwiks and offered the Purnahuti. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and his wife also participated in the ceremony. The Chief Minister prayed for abundant rainfall in the Krishna and Godavari basin areas and for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Telangana.
The government said the ritual was conducted while respecting the traditional Indian practice of performing yagams, yajnas and prayers for rainfall. It said scientific assessments and planning would continue alongside respect for cultural and spiritual traditions associated with nature, water and agriculture.
The government also cited weather department projections indicating the possibility of below-normal rainfall in Telangana this season due to the El Niño effect. Against this backdrop, the Maha Varuna Yagam was organised seeking favourable rainfall conditions.
The Chief Minister prayed for the Krishna and Godavari rivers to flow at healthy levels, for major reservoirs including Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar to receive sufficient water, and for tanks and ponds across the state to be replenished. He also prayed for improved groundwater levels, good crop yields and the prosperity of farmers.
Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Konda Surekha, government advisers K. Keshava Rao and P. Sudarshan Reddy, former minister K. Jana Reddy and other public representatives attended the Varuna Yagam.
