Parents Are the First Teachers of Traffic Discipline: Traffic ACP

తూంకుంట: పిల్లలు తమ తల్లిదండ్రుల ప్రవర్తనను అనుసరిస్తారని, అందువల్ల ట్రాఫిక్ నిబంధనలను పాటించడంలో తల్లిదండ్రులే వారికి ఆదర్శంగా నిలవాలని తిరుమలగిరి డివిజన్ ట్రాఫిక్ ఏసీపీ జి. శంకర్ రాజు అన్నారు.

మల్కాజిగిరి కమిషనరేట్ పోలీస్ కమిషనర్ బి. సుమతి, ట్రాఫిక్-1 డిప్యూటీ కమిషనర్ ఆఫ్ పోలీస్ కె. రాహుల్ రెడ్డి ఆదేశాల మేరకు ‘అరైవ్–అలైవ్’ కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా శనివారం తూంకుంటలోని పల్లవి ఇంటర్నేషనల్ స్కూల్‌లో నిర్వహించిన వ్యవస్థాపక దినోత్సవం మరియు ఇన్వెస్టిచర్ సెరిమనీ సందర్భంగా ట్రాఫిక్ అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించారు.

ఈ సందర్భంగా ఏసీపీ జి. శంకర్ రాజు విద్యార్థులు, తల్లిదండ్రులు, ఉపాధ్యాయులు, పాఠశాల యాజమాన్యాన్ని ఉద్దేశించి రహదారి భద్రత, ట్రాఫిక్ క్రమశిక్షణ, బాధ్యతాయుతమైన రహదారి వినియోగంపై అవగాహన కల్పించారు.

ద్విచక్ర వాహనదారులు తప్పనిసరిగా హెల్మెట్ ధరించాలని, కారులో ప్రయాణించే వారు సీటుబెల్ట్ వినియోగించాలని, ట్రాఫిక్ సిగ్నళ్లను తప్పనిసరిగా పాటించాలని సూచించారు. వాహనం నడుపుతూ మొబైల్ ఫోన్ వినియోగించకూడదని, మైనర్లకు వాహనాలు ఇవ్వవద్దని స్పష్టం చేశారు.

విద్యార్థులు తమ కుటుంబ సభ్యులు, స్నేహితులకు ట్రాఫిక్ నిబంధనలపై అవగాహన కల్పిస్తూ ‘ట్రాఫిక్ సేఫ్టీ అంబాసిడర్లుగా’ వ్యవహరించాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. అలాగే పాదచారుల భద్రత, జీబ్రా క్రాసింగ్ వినియోగం, లేన్ క్రమశిక్షణ, వేగ నియంత్రణ, బాధ్యతాయుతమైన డ్రైవింగ్ ప్రాముఖ్యతను వివరించారు.

నూతనంగా ఎన్నికైన విద్యార్థి నాయకులు పాఠశాలకే పరిమితం కాకుండా సమాజంలోనూ రహదారి భద్రతపై అవగాహన పెంపొందించడంలో ముందుండాలని సూచించారు.

అనంతరం పల్లవి ఇంటర్నేషనల్ స్కూల్ వ్యవస్థాపక దినోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకుని నిర్వహించిన తొలి పదవీ స్వీకార కార్యక్రమం ఘనంగా జరిగింది. తెలంగాణ సంప్రదాయ నృత్యాలు, వెస్ట్రన్ డ్యాన్స్, తైక్వాండో, జిమ్నాస్టిక్స్ ప్రదర్శనలు ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి.

ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో భారత వాయుసేన రిటైర్డ్ గ్రూప్ క్యాప్టెన్ డి.వి.ఎన్. రావు, శామీర్‌పేట పోలీస్ స్టేషన్ సబ్ ఇన్‌స్పెక్టర్ సోమి రెడ్డి, పల్లవి ఇంటర్నేషనల్ స్కూల్ డైరెక్టర్ డా. కార్తీక్ సంకూరి, హెడ్‌మిస్ట్రెస్ డా. సుచరిత రాయ్, పాఠశాల యాజమాన్యం, ఉపాధ్యాయులు, తల్లిదండ్రులు, విద్యార్థులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Parents Play Key Role in Teaching Traffic Discipline to Children: Traffic ACP

Hyderabad: Parents are the biggest role models for children, and their responsible behaviour on roads helps develop traffic discipline among young minds, said Tirumalagiri Traffic ACP G. Shankar Raju.

The remarks were made during a traffic awareness programme organised under the “Arrive Alive” campaign at Pallavi International School, Thumkunta, as part of the school’s Foundation Day and Investiture Ceremony. The programme was conducted following the directions of Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi and Traffic-1 DCP K. Rahul Reddy.

Addressing students, parents, teachers and the school management, the ACP highlighted the importance of road safety, responsible road usage and strict adherence to traffic rules.

He urged two-wheeler riders to wear helmets, car occupants to use seat belts, follow traffic signals and avoid using mobile phones while driving. He also advised parents not to allow minors to drive vehicles.

Students were encouraged to become “Traffic Safety Ambassadors” by spreading awareness among their family members and friends. The ACP also explained the importance of pedestrian safety, zebra crossings, lane discipline, speed control and responsible driving.

He called upon the newly elected student leaders to take the lead in promoting road safety awareness not only within the school but also in society.

The Foundation Day celebrations also featured cultural performances, including Telangana folk dance, Western dance, Taekwondo demonstrations and gymnastics. Retired Indian Air Force Group Captain D.V.N. Rao, SI Somi Reddy, School Director Dr. Karthik Sankuri, Headmistress Dr. Sucharita Roy, teachers, parents and students attended the programme.
